evening all and a happy new year!
i am off to canada with three friends (beginners) in march and wondered if anyone can give any info on anything really. we are staying at the lake louise inn. i wondered if there was a green run that goes from the top of any mountains to the bottom. i know as beginners they shall probably like gently wide runs giving them room to turn.
we are soooo looking forward to it.

Congratulations on selecting one of the finest skiing resorts in the world.
I am off there too mid-February - my last visit was in 1998. I promise you that you will not be disappointed with the skiing. Yes, there are green runs from top to bottom of every mountain in the Banff/Lake Louise areas.
Make sure you visit Sunshine Village too (on the same liftpass/ski bus system) - it is very different to the skiing at Lake Louise but equally enjoyable.

Wow, I agree, Banff is just the best place to ski in the world. I've skied there 3 times now and going back again next January. I usually stay in Banff itself as then you have the choice of going to Lake Louise or Sunshine Village to ski. I'm not 100% sure but I think that you will have mainly access to Lake Louise but if you can, please please please try Sunshine even if it is just for one day - it will be included in your lift pass.

There are plenty of green runs from top to bottom and there is an excellent nursery slope for first timers. The runs are wide and long and they do not get overcrowded at all (not like Europe where at times I feel like a sardine in a tin!!!). The Lake Louise Inn is lovely and you will be very comfortable. When dining out in Banff look out for the Spaghetti House which is so cheap and great food. Try to go to the Caribou Hotel (which is where I always stay) - they have a brilliant restaurant called The Keg and they serve the best baseball steak in Canada! Eating out is so cheap in Banff - hope you have a fantastic time!
