My sister had a letter this morning, she had booked flights with them to travel on the 15th August, she phoned the number they gave her and was advised that her flights had been paid in full and they sent her the tickets by email.
So worth phoning the number they send you incase you are lucky and your flights had been paid before they ceased trading
Good luck everyone who has dealt with this company

I had a letter yesterday (6.8.08) to say our booking agent (Skybargains) were no longer trading. I, along with 6 of our friends, had made final payment for flights to Turkey at the beginning of June, and phoned the phone number given in the letter. I was relieved to find that the booking reference was all in order still, and within 15 minutes, my flight tickets were emailed to me. You may have received a similar letter by now.

Just to let everyone know that ABTA wont send the letter you need for your credit card company automatically. In fact you probably wont hear from them at all. They are saying that if you paid by credit card, that is the route to go for, but you have to ring ABTA yourself to get the letter that you need as proof for you card company.

Further to my first comment on this subject, has anybody actually recieved their tickets from gold trail. My daughter contacted them & was assured her booking was being honoured but up to today she has not recieved her tickets & goldtrail are not answering the phone after her being on the phone for over an hour. She is due to fly on 25th Aug. I know there is still time but shes panicking like hell cos i got my tickets last tuesday & im flying 18th Aug. Thank you in advance if any body can shed any light on this matter.

I booked flights and hotel with Skybargains, the flights have been honoured but the hotel was cancelled. I cannot claim against ABTA as the booking was made by Skybargains as a 'retail agent' (through another hotel company) not a 'travel agent'. The hotel company is refusing to refund the money as they have not received any money. I was advised by Consumer Direct to either take them to the small claims court, which I will have to pay for, or make a claim with the Insolvency Practitioners and possibly get back 5p in the pound. Not sure if it will help anyone else out but here are the details if you need them.

ABTA were very unhelpful and I feel like we have been abandoned by them.

When I phoned Skybargains customer helpline they answered as Tuxedo Travel, advised me that they were not honouring any bookings by Skybargains but would happily re-book my hotel and take more of my money. What a slap in the face.
