not my thing but the other half thinks she may like to try Turkey at the end of the season, any advice will be much appreciated,
we would look for
1] a small resort in a flatish area [not worried about a sandy
beach] close to traditional villages & historic sites
2] transfers from airport not exceeding 1 hr
3] a smallish hotel complex, four star preferred offering half board
I thank all who reply in advance

Located on the beach. Very nice hotel.
And, best of all, it's located next to the Manuela Hotel which has the best bar and night life in Bitez.
talking to a couple during last hols when we were in Blue Moon and they were not much impressed with the Ambrosia
del
Hi Del, don't know anything about the Ambrosia, just where it is. Never talked to anyone who has stayed there.
Got to agree - Bitez is the place. Sorry can't help with hotel as we always stay in small places. Anyone know anything about the Bitez Han? Not sure how many stars it has but looks ok and seems popular. Think it may be AI though. Right on the beach and nice gardens. There is another big hotel past the Han but don't know what it is called... just over the little bridge before you get on the path past the new house if anyone knows where I mean.
I think I know which hotel you mean prawn, but I have never seen any English people there, and haven't seen it advertised on any British sites.
The Okaliptus is in a great position, as Del says, it's quite a good Hotel.
Wizard, you won't be disappointed with Bitez if you decide on there.
Have just been onto ambrosiahotel.com and found some great aerial photos of the hotel, and of Bitez.

Hi Pat, our holiday bag seems to be always on the go. (Been back 2 weeks now from Morocco.) We keep having to fill it up.
You are such gad-abouts! Just checked the Ambrosia website and could see the Kassandra (where we are staying this year) so am quite happy now - just want to go tomorrow (or Saturday instead of work!).
Mike,
Del. You're a jammy devil.
Back to those photos. You don't realise just how many buildings there are in Bitez. Not many of them show from the road. Must have a wander some time, see what I can find.
Glad you had a good time, Del. Meet any strange folk out there....or do you save that for Bitez?
love del
Come on Wiz. . . have we sold you on Bitez? Nice place, lovely people, good food, places to visit, sights to see and .......... strange ladies with big hats!!!
Del - does this mean I am 'unusual' and NOT strange!! or both!!!
I was being extra polite and gentelmanly
Sorry Briar - rambling as usual. Waiting for Wiz to make up his mind.
I don't think anyone has mentioned Olu Deniz. If by end of season you mean Sept/Oct it could be good for you and your wife. It's pretty and there are plenty of hotels to choose from. It's just the flat bit I am worried about.
Down by the seafront and along the little prom (if you can call it that) it is flat, however the walk up Olu Deniz high street is on an incline, but this is where most people have a stroll to in the evening, for a beer or coffee.
Also in terms of the airport transfer, this has come down to just over an hour due to there now being a new tunnel open. A private transfer can speed it up as well.
Briar has been to both Bitez and Olu Deniz so she might be able to say how they compare.
