hello there hope someone can shed some light on this got my flight tickets through and there is something in with it saying that some bridge is out of use crossing some river and this will add an extra hour to our journey getting to our hotel. sorry this is vague but going off memory havent got the document now and never been to goa before!!! going to calengute anyone know how long it takes to get to calengute from the airport and what this bridge delay in transfer this is all about?
was going to gat a taxi from airport to avoid the coach!
thanks.
I think all the north resorts use the bridge, so it wont be just your resort affected.
It will take about 2 hours if you dont use the bridge
Both the Zuari and Mandovani bridges are open, but the Zuari may only be for Taxis and light vehicles - We got a cab from the airport on Saturday - If your transfer is by coach the best bet may be to get a taxi from the fixed price taxi place opp the airport exit.
After being closed completley for weight bearing tests on the 12th Nov it has just been cleared for buses as well as cars so now it's only heavy lorries that are banned, so if you want to stick with the coach transfer there is no problem As a matter of interest we had to make the detour on the 12th on our way home and its a very pleasant run through the Goan countryside over some roads that wre new to us, we told the taxi to take his time, and the run from Calangute took just under a couple of hours Alan
hi, just wondering when it is you travel? we go on 9th december but had nothing saying this so hopefully it will stay open!
was going to get a taxi anyway because i dislike coaches, and want to beat the crowd to the hotel. sounds asif this bridge is a bit weak then hope we all cross ok... ha!
thanks a lot for your replies.
Just got back and the Mandovi river bridge was closed on our way there; this meant going East through Ponda and added 1 hour to the journey. The bridge is now open and should be working as normal - we got a taxi back to the airport and went over it
