February 4th sees the release of Sun goes down by David Jordan. This is the kind of song that would go down well in Turkey. I can visualize the waiters dancing around the restaurants to it !! Radio 2 are playing it on a regular basis.

Can anyone help? I am just back from Marmaris & in every bar you went in you heard this song which had a kind of whistling chorus, which everyone would blow thier whistles too.... Does anyone know what its called? Also looking for the names of some of the other popular songs...
That song your referring is Bob Sinclar - World, Hold on!
(sorry if we have already established this but i didnt wanna read through a million posts)

DEFINATLY AGREE! i got this song a couple of weeks ago and it automatically made me think of turkey! can't wait to hear that this summer!
Yes it would it sounds very turkish i said that when i first heard him sing. I also like Hande Yener- Romeo
Well, David Jordan has made it to No.4 in the charts but I am getting doubts to him making it to the top spot. It is still getting plenty of air play on Radio 2.
Hey that na na na na song is called The Underdog Project : summer jam
I can imagine Fascination by Alphabeat being big in Turkey as it is big all over Europe (it's such a feelgood song) and possibly Low by Flo-Rida/T-Pain and Madonna's 4 Minutes being played a lot. I just hope Leona 'Bleeding' Lewis isn't being played to death out there too! If anyone has just come back from or lives in Marmaris can they please let us know which tunes are being played a lot at the moment.
Cheers
Kittimus
I've been saying for afew weeks now that i think Flo'rida - Low, applebottom jeaaaaans, boots with the fuuurr(love it) is going to be OVERPLAYED this summer, like Usher - Yeah used to be played too much and shakira hips dont lie,
I know what you mean about vengaboys haha i love hearin the cheese when i'm away and 50 cent candyshop (or candystore as my nan sings as we sit in a restaurant :duh) i know that gets played alot lol.
But i definatly think Low is going to be the big song of the summer this year, can't wait to find out

Hey MF, shame you are flying out on the day we come home - we could have hooked up and sung along to Low over a couple of vodka cherry juices!

I've been going out to Turkey for 19 years and already have the next 3 visits planned over the next year or two (including a "big" birthday next September!!) Love it. Nowhere else compares.
theres no better place than turkey to celebrate your birthday... i go away every oct, but only found how nice turkey is 2 years ago, so now i go there
I have just got back fronm turgatries the other day and there was a song played out there all the time but i dunno what its called, there was a line that said "gas holiday" or something
Back from Marmaris a couple of weeks now and want to get on a plane straight back out there Had a wicked time. For all you Turkey music lovers, here's what to expect.
Biggest song heard everywhere was Flo-Rida/T-Pain with Low - the ultimate holiday song. Madonna's 4 Minutes was also big along with Helldorado's Drinking Song (brilliant) which was also adapted for the Turkish team's Euro football song. Old favourites like Follow The Leader, Cha Cha Slide and Summer Jam still being played in the beach front bars. Also heard a dance version of In The Shadows by The Rasmus, although it is a few years old now it sounded great funked up to a dance beat. Ne-Yo's Closer is now getting airplay out there, as is Cry For You by September and Sam Sparro's Black and Gold. Heard David Jordan a couple of times but not much.
Sorry i-was-gonna, not sure what song you mean but if you can let me know a bit more about it I will try and help you. Was it a Turkish song or an English or Europop one?
Miss Funky Cass, hope you enjoyed your birthday
Kitti x
it was like a euro dance song, it was played like every night in all the clubs and bars around turgutreis it wernt english
i-was-gonna, sorry I can't help but hope you can find out.

Denny
Just got back from 4 weeks in Marmaris but am still looking for a couple of songs
1) it may have been called "Deeper In The Night" all of the lads in the hotel were dancing to it but didn't manage to find out what it was called or who it was by.
2) an older song, a dance song (I think, never actually heard it) that has the line "World Is Mine" it may well have been from a couple of years ago but I'm fed up with M singing only that line!
there was a song getting played when we were out in july don't know the nmae of it (obviously) but in the song it has the words "aw naw,AW naw" any ideas who it is hubby thinks its great
