Hello all, just wondering what the spanish people think of us brits in Fuerteventura are there some spanish residents on the forums that could comment ....are we welcome there when we buy property? I have been thinking of buying a holiday home in Fuerte for sometime now but I worry that we are percieved as easy targets to rip off .
I love the canary isles and connot think of a nicer place to live/holiday in in all of europe.
The Canarian people are an ethnic group and proud of their individual Islands and are an autonomous region of Spain
We have lived here for 4 years now and have no problems at all with the local Spanish population.
We speak Spanish (not fluently) and live and work amongst the locals.
I don't know of anyone who has had a problem. In my own humble opinion, the only people who are likely to try and rip you off are your fellow ex pats. I could tell you some stories that would make your hair curl. If you do decide to make the move give me a PM and I will give you some pointers
Dave
