Always better to take more than you need,It's a good feeling when you come back with money to put towards your next Goa holiday :D :D.
But don't forget your credit/debit cards for extravagant purchases or emergencies.

Happy Holidays,regards Paula

Don't even think my wife could spend that much......but then again, she likes a challenge and I don't think she'd be beaten! :rofl

If all you want to do eat and drink well and buy a few bits you'll have plenty. If you go to the jewellers......how long is a piece of string? :que

I'm always skint and go with hardly anything, went with £60 one week 2/3 years ago! Same as over here - you live to your means, I'm sure if I was lucky enough to have £1000 to spend in a fortnight I'd do it no trouble!

we took £500 this year for two weeks, we found it hard to spend this, this time we are taking £1000 but are going for 3 weeks,

we always take £100 a day (£1400) for two weeks.that allows us to buy a bit of jewelery if she wants or maybe a visit to he lacoste shop if i decide.trips etc....that said, ive just about done them all lol.either way £1300 will be well enough dont worry.

Apparenty things are likely to be 20% less this year??? - http://www.deccanherald.com/Content/Oct112008/national2008101094488.asp

Although I'll beleive that when I see it.... Good luck, by the way 1200 would last me 6 months! (or more).... Happy haolidays....
