Having just returned from Lykia World we are contemplating where to go next. This appears to be a huge problem as we all had such a fabulous time there and the kids, absolutely loved all the activities on offer.
They will be 11, 8 and twins 6 next year and love to join in at the clubs and go on waterlides. Activities for the elder two included jetskiing, banana boats, archery, golf, football, canoing, rock climbing, most of which were free or only nominally priced, etc so we are really looking for much of the same. Lykia again is a distinct possibility but is coming in at over £600 more for the 6 of us so wondred if there was anywhere else comparable in Turkey.
Thanks
The only places we have been that come close are in the Caribbean and Mexico, and they are just as expensive and in the summer, much wetter.
Let me know if you find anywhere.
pamplemousse, I read somewhere that they are opening a Lykia World on the med coast of Turkey (Side, Belek, Lara etc) although I'm not sure of the exact resort.
Sometimes when it's the first year of a place opening they have good promotions etc It might be worth scouring the net to see if you can find a deal as presumably it will have the same high standards of the one at Olu Deniz.
Good Luck, Doe
Its going to be very golf oriented, with an 18 and a 9 hole course. Its not going to be on the same scale as the Olu Deniz one for other activities though.
The new Lykia World was originally supposed to open this May (though website now says Sept) and the UK office sent me a leaflet about it last winter offering me a discount to book for this year. Lucky I didn't! However on that principle, if next summer is in fact their first summer season, the UK office might offer you a discount. None of the tour ops seem to be offering it for next year yet, though Cosmos was offering it this year.
Hi where can i find out about the new lykia world
Thomson offers several of these Magic Life hotels. Here is the ML website

I'm kicking myself as MyTravel were offering a great deal before we went but the free kids have all gone now and the cheapest deal I can get is with Eclipse again but as I said it's over £600 dearer. I'm giving this some thought though as the place is so special and anyone finding any major faults with itshouldn't be allwed to go on holiday in my humble opinion.
We were talking to a Turkish holidaymaker who lives in London whilst there and he was saying the new one is going to be VERY expensive and as Bridd said very pro golf.
Aside from the price increase I would go back to Lykia in a second, it takes you a week to find your feet properly and there's loads we promised to do but never found the time. Hubby especially wanted to do the paragliding but it was cancelled with no time to rebook before we came home.
The Aegean Dreams is nealy half as chep though but would we be bitterly disappointed I wonder?
That area doesn't look so scenic but the beaches are meant to be good, infact there is a pier out into the sea with loungers, which looks lovely.
This will be our first time to Turkey and I did look at Lykia world but it was coming in a bit pricey. Larespark is very reasonable indeed and seems to fit our remit ie enough for kids who are almost outgrowing the kids clubs, plus a relaxing environment for us. A year until we go yet though
Pam
There is also the Pegasus Palace which has its own thread on here. I don't think it will be as beautiful as Lykia or quite as posh, but if it's a huge swimming pool with slides and lots of kids activities that is a priority for you it might be OK, provided you dont keep comparing it while your there.
If Lykia is coming up cheaper than Magic Life, you've found a bargain anyway! We paid only 2/3 as much for Magic Life. Did you try pricing as 4 adults and 2 children? The rooms only sleep 3.

im booked next year for the aegean dream and im a bit concerned as someone has told me its not quite as nice as letoonia oops !!!!
Try pricing the Lykia world separately on the Thomson website.I noticed yesterday it was quite reasonable on the hotel only site.Flights can be booked separately with Thomson or other carriers to Dalaman.
Hi all, went to Lykia Olu Deniz last year, absolutely loved it. I know what you mean re where to go next, nothing else seems to compare! We have now booked to go to Aqua Fantasy on Monday, got good last minute deal so not expecting too much. I will judge how I feel after our holiday but I must say I am contemplating returning to Lykia next time. Its hard to find these sorts of hotel complexes in other countries apart from (I agree with Bridd) Caribean etc. Sue
I was wondering about the Aegean Dream resort as that is coming up a lot cheaper, anyone been?
http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=66887. looks good .Im hoping to book there for next summer with my cheap flights from aegean flights
PM . there is a thread running for the aegean dream here
Thanks lynwestie. I have been looking at that thread but was wondering if anyone could compare between there and Lykia, there is such a lot of difference between price it is tempting.
put it this way im booked to stay at the ADR may 08 and ive been told its not as good as letoonia which i loved but letoonia isnt quite as good as lykia so going on that im not expecting too much
