Well I think maybe the sports bar has gone downhill since my last visit, when I was there I didn't witness anything but a bit of freindly banter between rival fans, I would hate to see anyone belittle the indian waiters as they are lovely, the butter chicken was really good too, as I have said though maybe it has gone downhill this season.

I too think it is over priced, however...

The staff in there are superb, especially the old boy who kept me plied with Kings last year.

There can be a little clique in there, but on the whole never seen any trouble.

Always a variety of games on and it keeps teh kids occupied with pool tables etc as the one at the Highland Beach has been gone since I worked in Goa 7/8 years ago.

The old pool shack at the Osborne or the Original sportsman in Calangute were good (when Kirk ran it) for watching the football/cricket and having a cheap beer.

Just because some of us like to catch up with the match whilst we are on holiday, does not make us thugs.

At the top of beach road upstairs above the chinese is the Countryside pub which has a big screen and the drinks are half the price of the sports bar

My son and I walked in one afternoon to play pool and get out of the shade.

I asked if they were open as they was no-one about and they all looked at each other and then said come come.

They took the cover off a table and we bought a coke and a fanta.

When i left I was charged 160 rups for the table (an hours charge!) and the drinks were way over the top. I queried the prices to be told that they were high as it was a sat and the weekends prices are higher. Basically as the football is on they jack the prices up.
Dont they realise that more people would come if the prices were lower?

In conclusion, a greedy bar, I wouldnt trust the Draught beer either. Bottles were Bud and Cobra and were pricy.

i'm not sure i should say this, but why would you want to play pool in india? to get out of of the sun?! how about some snooze in a shack, or lie under an umbrella, or what about karum ???

if you don't ask a price in india, then be prepared for a surprise!!!

£2 for a game of pool for an hour.....come on!! (how much do you usually pay? 50p - £1 for a game?!)

Odd comment misterc but here goes....

My son is four and is a active young chap. My wife was bag shopping and theres no way he would enjoy that.

I thought I would introduce him to pool, he throughly enjoyed it! I dont play pool at all so wouldnt know the price at home.

I'll try Karum with him next time maybe :rofl
