Having been to the Sports Bar many times over the last few years I was quite disappointed this year how much they have put their prices up, this year I paid 280rps(just short of £4) for two Romanov vodkas and one can of diet coke , I queried the price with the waiter who replied "it is to pay for the football and the large screens".
Needless to say when football wasn't on the big screen the place was empty not suprisingly..

we were paying 30rps in most places for a R Vodka and 25rps for a bottle of Pesi 35 rps for a can of diet,making your bill 95rps. Many places now show the football (we watched in Oceanic beach shack Baga) so people need to vote with their feet to stop this rip off culture.
Vote with your feet my friend.
Do what I do, get a season for Newcastle utd, that will stop anyone wanting to go the sports bar.

I rarely go in there-but also found the prices very expensive in December - we also queried it! Only went the once and that was only because my son wanted to watch a match.
Yep a dear do..and took ages to get both food and drinks...we only went in once, and watched the footie elsewhere after that.
they should pull the sports bar down and cut down on all the shouting noise and trouble it brings, last year we saw fights and 3 people have been glassed. saddens me to see brits fighting amongst ourselves even now in goa. ban bars like this and have a holiday with your friends family and loved ones . could make a differance.
Heard one of the screens got smashed last year too, cheap booze, too much sun and a good old brawl, you can`t beat it can you ? 
Drink, and especially cheap, has a lot to answer for.
I know where the bar is, but ive never been in it, cant ever see me going in it either. From what ive been reading on here its very expensive and if people are causing fights then its not for me!

sadly isnt the cheap drink its called the british thugs half the time start arguing over a few men kicking a ball around then its about attitudes kicking in, chill out forget the football you can go on the beach and watch the locals dazzle you with skill and no boots see real football or go to the football pitch and watch a game then have a drink with them at the end is my idea. but boys will be boys i guess
I say keep the sports bar, I would'nt go within a mile of the place , but it obviously serves a purpose, collecting a certain type of Brit, and they can "glass" each other and curse and swear to their hearts content, and wont be bothering the decent holidaymaker, who can enjoy their holiday elsewhere. Trouble is though Gramps that at some time or another ( usually in the early hours) they have to leave the sports bar and make their noisy and drunken way home. I admit I hate football and the whole 'culture' that surrounds it so I am slightly biased, but I think it was a sad day in Goa when these type of bars started to open up. With this there came the type of british tourist who demanded pie and chips and a full english with Heinz beans. Cheap flights plus cheap booze and the the promise of good old english grub whilst still being able to watch your favourite team is a recipe for disaster and a sure sign that the place is going downhill.
I agree 100% with the last post, we're lucky in tbat we go for slightly longer than two weeks we're both early risers so we're up and on the beach by 8.00 ish, consequently we're safely tucked up by the time the rabble are going home, also we make sure our accomodation is small, and in quiet areas. I,m afraid however, as you say, that type is more and more prevelant now, and those that dont want the sort of things that they are looking for, tend to move on, leaving Goa more and more at the mercy of the "rabble" Alan
I strongly disagree with the previous posts, I am football crazy so I have frequented the sports bar myself on several occasions (when Man Utd are playing) .
I do not believe that I am rabble, I am not a drunk , I do not visit Goa to eat Pie and chips (don't eat them at home either) , I prefer the local cuisine, I hardly ever swear (I am not an angel) but would not swear in public, usually up at 8 if not earlier when in Goa, not a lover of baked beans , so I don't know what my 'type' is, I have never seen anyone being glassed in the sports bar.
We choose to go there because the screens are so good.
Just because people love football they are not thugs.

As I said in my posts I've never visited the place, other posters mentioned unruly behaviour, assaults with glasses , fighting, swearing etc, this suggested to me, that at times it would appear that a "disorderly crowd" was present, (the dictionary definition of Rabble) I have'nt a clue when this behaviour takes place, or when what team is, or is not, playing, and I certainly never for a moment suggested that the previous poster was present, when any part of these incidents that others have posted on, took place Alan
Sorry, but i find the Sports Bar (J21) an embarrasement these days, apart from being a dump, lousy food and expensive drinks, the loud and foul language from both men and women is astounding, they give no respect to the waiters or any children present and any "peace loving" football fan.
Not trying to catagorise anyone uses the place, i'm an ardent football fan, but really have seen better behavior in a dockers canteen than shown by some who frequent the place.

I've been going to the Sports Bar for many years to watch the football. I have never seen any trouble, but I have heard reports. I 've always found the prices reasonable and the food good, certainly I have had a lot worse.Its the best place in the area for the football, but everyone to their own thing.
Is this the place on the 2nd floor on tito's road?
I went to one sports bar with a big screen and pool. It was dead when we went but the chaps that worked there seemed nice. Just pllayed pool and had a battered pinapple and ice cream
