If you are looking for an island with clear sea water ( quite different to your first request ) then the whole world becomes available so it might be best to give more ideas on this (Part of the world, budget, what you want to be able to do when you get there ).

Kind Regards

Could you recommend any exact places inside of those countries?

I've been looking at going to the Fjord in Norway, that looks quite nice.

I'm kind of going off the idea of a holiday by the beach now. Something with quite a bit more nature.

As I said, Norway is looking quite good. Although I'm not sure which the best area to stay is?

Are you an experienced winter walker in the UK? Unless you are I'd give all the places you mention a miss in late November. The weather won't just be quite cold but also very changeable and possibly dangerous. Would you consider going to the Highands of Scotland, Snowdonia or the Lake District at that time of year? Are you confident that your navigation skills are up to getting you off the mountain and down safely into the valley in the event of the weather turning bad. Are you confident that your clothing and footwear etc would be up to it? Unless you can answer 'yes' to all the above questions I would suggest that a holiday walking in the mountains of any of the countries you list could be potentially very dangerous in late November.

Instead I would suggest that you are more likely to find a suitably 'outdoorsy' sort of holiday at that time of year on one of the smaller Canary Islands (La Gomera and La Palma would be worth looking at) or somewhere like Madeira or Mallorca. All have beautiful scenery, all will have mild weather at that time of year, it's possible to buy decent walking guide books in English for all of them and you won't need specialist winter gear either.

I have only just noticed this thread and agree with everything SMa has said. I live not far from the Austrian Alps and though on rare occasions we have mild weather at the end of November it is as I said very rare. The ski season has often started in late November but it's not normally with blue skies and sunshine but more often with grey skies and bitter cold. Even though I am an experienced walker I wouldn't do what you are planning in winter, if I wanted activity I would head to one of the destinations that SMa has listed.

Hi, just found this post. We stayed at the Cortisen Hotel in St Wolfgang Austria a few Febs ago. It is a fabulous hotel and reasonable.

As far as I can remember the sports shop is next door for packages like nordic walking, hikes, train trips up the mountain and cable car trips up the mountain (stunning). You are also very close to Salzburg for a day out.

We loved the place ---- check the hotel out - it is really very good -- and the scenery from the bedrooms stunning.

Happy hunting

St Wolfgang is lovely indeed. We have been there both in February and June, but I do not think anyone would want to go there in November! Weather will be rotten probably and nothing open.
