style of cots

We stayed at the Sol Y Mar apartments in Cala Bona when it was a Thomson property and to be absolutely honest I was appalled with the cots offered. Both were wooden and we had one where the mattress was too small and their idea of getting it to fit was to roll a towel and wedge it in, the other cot was quite literally a death trap. It took us 2 days to get 2 cots that I was reasonably (but not fully) happy with.

Our holiday the next year I took our own travel cots....yes, it was a right royal pain in the bum having to lug them with us BUT for the peace of mind of knowing that the cots for your babies are safe and clean it was well worth it. Especially if you're a bit funny about 'germs' :)

I think proper Thomson Family Friendly hotels/apartments have branded baby equipment but as we were told at the time, there is no such requirement for other properties and it's whilst we have very thorough and precise safety laws, the same can't be said in resorts. Also their mattresses seem to be the more basic plastic covered ones and I was concerned about that.

In a private apartment we stayed at run by Spanish owner they had a cot that resembled something out of a Romanian orphange...ours were older by that stage but I was :yikes when I saw it!
