I will be travelling to malta next week on my own - any suggestions on places to eat/drink in the Bay? Any help gratefully received!
Also, looking to visit the Blue Lagoon - are there direct boats to Comino rather than take the scheduled boat trips at 30LM each?
many thanks

LM30 each !!!!! - who is that with, you could practically buy a boat for that ! Not sure of prices from Malta side, but from Gozo, trip to Comino is LM3 return, think about the same from near Cirkewwa (not sure exact location) - bus from Mellieha to Cirkewwa is 40c max

ah, I might have got the maths wrong - I just checked ant the adult fare for a cruise says its 48 euro, not british pounds!!! I though £48 was rather a lot in the first place. 3ML sounds a lot better!

                Hi
Just back from St pauls on 21st, we did the trip to the blue lagoon it was lovely and well worth it it cost us ML4.5 return from Buggiba Square. Departed at 11 and retured for 4pm. We went snorkelling, watch out for the jellyfish I got stung by one. Views were spectacular, photos don't do it justice.

even 48 euro is about LM 20. However, LM3 is for boat only - whats included in the cruise ?
edit Tigerlily got in just before me - lm4.50 from Buggiba sq is good

Buggiba square ah the memories, not the same now that it is pedestrionised

We went on a cruise to St Paul's Island, The Blue Lagoon etc from there with a great guy called Tony, I believe he is now driving taxis, anyway back to the point, the cruise was fantastic and the Blue Lagoon is really beautiful and well worth seeing
I am sure the price is nowhere near as high as 48 euro, here are some links for cruises
http://www.captainmorgan.com.mt/cruises.htm
http://www.mol.net.mt/dolphin
These will help you see some of the cruises on offer.
The 'Charlotte Louise' from Captain Morgan always looks nice when she is in full sail.

There are a number of 'independent' boats to Comino from St Paul's Bay/Bugibba - a lot of them do a stop at St Paul's Island and look at some of the caves on their way to the Blue Lagoon. Most leave between 10.30am/11.00am - best to go on a weekday as the weekends are very busy. We tend to go for a smaller (ie non Captain Morgan) boat and they generally charge between LM4-5. They all serve snacks, but these can vary from a huge selection to ones where you can buy a ham or cheese roll. And I've never found that they trip and rip you off for drink or food prices We also make sure we go on a boat with some shade!

shade is a good idea - forecast for next week is sunny and 33C (its only 11am now, and its very hot already !)

If you wanted you could do the Blue Lagoon by jet ski which will cost 15Lm from Little Armier Bay. Also a nice place to eat there is Ray's Lido.
You really can't go wrong for anywhere to eat in Mellieha I have dined in most places and with the exception of two restaurants everyone has been good.

Hi there In response to Kiltman-Graham re. Tony and his boat trips. We are great friends with Tony and his family, I use to love his boat trips, they were the best! Anyway Tony is doing Malta and Gozo trips in a mini van. They are a great day out, he doesn't advertise as he only takes a maximum of 8 a day, but works by word of mouth. If anyone going to St Pauls wants his number please send me a private message and I will forward it.
