Hi Lee
When are you travelling? We were at Sun n Sands last Christmas and were not bothered by the mozzies at all. There was a plug in thingy in our room I think.
As for dress code; the main restaurant is not air-conditioned and was still quite hot in the evenings. I am sure there were plenty of guys in smart shorts but I have to say the majority did wear trousers. I would pack one pair and see what you think when you arrive. However, be aware that on a couple of evenings tables are set up in the grounds or near the beach and dinner is served outside. If you are travelling when there are likely to be more mozzies around you might prefer to wear trousers to protect your legs lol:
If you want to know anything else feel free to send a PM or post another question.
I am off in the next 2 weeks and have some final questions:
Can anyone confirm when does the all inclusive drinks stop? The first choice brochure says 1am but the fact sheet i have downloaded from the hotel website says 11pm?
Also does the hotel supply towels at the pool?
Are all rooms garden/pool facing or are any situated at the rear of the hotel (rooms back to back)?
Final question - on your day of departure do you get to keep the all inclusive until you leave or does it stop when you check out? My flight is not leaving until 8am and i guess i will be checking out at 12noon the day before!!!
Lots of questions but any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Lee
Yes to the beach towels and, yes, I am pretty certain all rooms face the pools and beach.
Sorry I can't help with any information about checking out as we had a very early pick up for our flight - too early for breakfast as I recall. Are you sure that you don't get to keep your room until you depart? I would go back to your Tour Operator and ask them what the arrangements are for check out and departure.
Have a lovely holiday.
- do you know about the all inclusive stopping at 1am or 11pm?
Have checked out with FC and yes we do get to sleep the night before we fly...phew...thought that would be one hell of a journey otherwise!
Thanks again
Sorry Lee I don't know about the A/I hours because we travelled with our kids who dragged us back to our rooms before 11pm . Of course we can't get them to bed on time at home but suddenly on holiday they "need" to go to bed We did manage to enjoy a number of 'drinks' during the day, however, so don't feel to sorry for us In fact I suspect that the adult contingent of our party were often asleep before the children
All inclusive stops at 1am, by this time there is only the one bar open, but to be honest most people had, had there fill and wobbled off to bed before 1am. If it looks like you will stick it out the guys behind the bar make sure you dont (they like giving out good measures). I was there in April and loved it. Will definately go back.
and most importantly what is hte sun and sand like, can we use the beach, go in the sea etc as i have seen mixed reports
Hi Jill, I am also going in Aprilon th 10th from Manchester how about you let me know if you find any good info
hope this helps
i'm also going to this hotel ,in july
You must take your malaria tabs regardless of when you go, rainy season or not. You will be able to snorkel if you wish, the beach boys are only a pain while you are on the beach, they don't follow you into the water!

Oh yes we are me,hubby and son (age 11). We booked this hol beginning of July last year. Cant believe now how quick it has come round though at the start of 2008 and all the political trouble we thought it wasn't going to happen. It's the first time in Kenya for us and we can't wait. Is it the first time for your family too? Have you booked a safari?
