We,re thinking of going to Amsterdam for my friends hen weekend, and I was wondering if everything in amsterdam is open on a sunday,ie.. museums, shops, bars, red light district

You'll be fine. Most places may open a little later, or for shorter hours, but they do open - it's Monday mornings you have to watch out for, that's when a lot of shops & so on are closed.
