hi!
i have seen a good deal to this hotel in december for a week. It says it is in candolim, but i was wondering where? i didnt rember seeing it! is it down the beach road or along the main drag?
i have read the reports and they sound good!
thanks alot!
Sunset Beach Resort is opposite Whispering Palms. If you know Mermaid restaurant or The Bistro You've got it. The Bistro is actually part of Sunset Beach Resort. Go past Ruffles towards sinquerim and take the next right.
Hope this is the one you're talking about???

thanks very much! i now where it is now, i just couldnt picutre it before. Its down that end of candolim where we normally stay! i like the quiter end, then get taxis upto the noise!
Just booked The Sunset and the reports sound good. If it is as you say the quiet end is it still near enough to get to plenty of restaurants etc. We stayed at Calagute last time but near the Candolin end but I dont remeber seeing the Sunset. We did go to a resturant that was called Sunset (I think) which was very nice. I remeber the elephant shop is it far from there.
if you have'nt used this its a big help for locating places
Sunset is a nice little hotel,we have eaten there and looked in the rooms which are fine - would be our next choice if we are ever stuck.
Mermaid restaurant round the corner is a must (booking advisable on weekends) also the Whispering Palms opposite have 'theme/music' nights with a bbq/buffet on,all welcome and worth a visit.
There is another hotel with a VERY similar name. One is down by Whispering Palms and the other is either Calangute or Baga, can't remember for sure but I think it's Baga
We stayed in the Sunset Beach, Candolim last April. It's in a nice quiet spot but still close to restaurants etc.The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfy. We're going back again in March. We also went to Ganesh's shack. He's a good guy. We didn't eat at the Sunset Bistro as it was closed for the season but it gets good reviews. We hope to try it next time.
Thank you for the replies the Sunset we have booked is in Candolin. I think it may be the resturant that we went to it was really nice and very busy down a road that led to the beach, but it was our first night in Goa and we met friends there that had been before so I never took much notice of where we went I was in the 'oh my god' culture shock mode that I was sure wouldnt happen to me because I was so prepared after reading all the valuable advice on here! However as we have only been back 2 weeks and we have booked again for next year says it all!
how did you book the hotel? was it directly or through a travel agents?. The reason im asking is that this is a smashing little hotel and fairly hard to get in as it only has around 40 rooms. Half of these are let to a swedish travel firm i belive.
I'm off to SUnset Beach on the 26th Feb for 15 nights. Have read nothing but great reviews - I can't wait!
The best hotel I have stayed in in Goa, Small & friendly, now has the added bonus of the bistro, have always had a great meal there with service to match.
welcome to HT Lease
We booked on line with Thomas Cook it sounds like a good en so far!! Good luck with booking yourself. Jude
We booked with Thomas Cook (got a real cheap deal too) but maybe you can book directly with the hotel at their web site
