Can anyone reccomend any new hotels that have opened in the last year thats not too expensive, we normally stay at the victor Exotic and have always paid 660£ but this year the price as gone up to 900£pp.

basic rooms but clean and tidy nice eating drinking area at front of hotel.
The Bistro retaraunt is attached to the sunset have had some great meals in there!!!
If you have stayed at the VE you are just accross the road and down a little?
Have you tried the Chocolate Cafe near by??

                Hi Littlemiss
We've stayed at the Sunset 5 times and it's a wonderful hotel, has been said in a previous post it's opposite the Whispering Palms, you've got 2 good restaurants on the doorstep the Bistro situated in the grounds of the hotel and the Mermaid next door. As far as I'm aware it's only available by Thomas Cook that's the only tour operator that offers this hotel in this country. We now stay at Pretty petals which is owned by the same people. Would recommend it every time.

Hello Littlemiss, having walked past this hotel for the last 8 years we decided to stop there last year and are booked in again for March this year.
Nice hotel, very clean, great staff and a good position for the beach (3 min walk).
If you know Ruffles Bar - imaging you have come out of there and are on the main road, turn right and walk 20 yards and the next road on your right you come to (is known as Whispering Palms Road) - 3 min walk from the main road.
Very easy walking distance to all the popular bars/restaurants etc.. and not far from Candolim crossroads.

                Hi
We have just got back from Candolim last week, my daughter stayed at The Sunset Beach, we had a look around and thought it was lovely, nice clean airy rooms, well furnished and much better than where we stayed at the Highland. The pool was the downside as it was small and did not get a lot of sun, but to us Goa is a beach holiday anyway...maybe there will be more sun on it later in the season?
I would not hesitate to book there myself next time.
Yes and the Chocolate Cafe is amazing

Enjoy
Regards
Ann

I know but can I ask, is the chocolatti on the same road as the sunset beach?

It's on the left hand side corner as you turn down the road to the Sunset Beach.
