However since it is currently only 17 degrees, it doesn't hold out much hope for you! My experience is that the temp needs to be 20 degrees to be bearable for swimming. However some people are hardy souls and this is probably as warm as the sea ever gets on British beaches.

Oops nearly forgot about the snorkelling! The snorkelling off the beach isn't great, you will probably see plenty of small fish but not much coral or colourful fish. There is a diving centre at the end of the marina and if you really want to see some marinelife I suggest you call in to see what trips they have on offer.
Snorkelling is fine there. When we were there people were feeding the fish with bread rolls they had brought from the hotel
