Here is a link to a website which gives you the current water temperature at Monastir. http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/weather/maps/city?PLZ=_____&PLZN=_____&LANG=en&CEL=C&SI=mph&CONT=afri&LAND=TS&REGION=0009&WMO=60740&R=0&LEVEL=210&NOREGION=1 Keep an eye on it until you go! However since it is currently only 17 degrees, it doesn't hold out much hope for you! My experience is that the temp needs to be 20 degrees to be bearable for swimming. However some people are hardy souls and this is probably as warm as the sea ever gets on British beaches.

Going by my personal experiences in PEK you will probably find that the sea is a bit warmer than the outdoor pool at your hotel. I have stayed in various hotels there and usually find this to be the case.

Hope you enjoy your hols! I can't wait until July to spend a fortnight in the hotel kanta!! :sun2

Oops nearly forgot about the snorkelling! The snorkelling off the beach isn't great, you will probably see plenty of small fish but not much coral or colourful fish. There is a diving centre at the end of the marina and if you really want to see some marinelife I suggest you call in to see what trips they have on offer.

Snorkelling is fine there. When we were there people were feeding the fish with bread rolls they had brought from the hotel :D
