Hello everyone
This is our first time to Fuerteventura and we are all really looking forward to it. Staying in a villa in Correlejo in August but I have to admit I am worried about the sea. It was a real dilemma whether to book because of my concerns, but we have taken the plunge (literally)!

Have always been to the Med and enjoyed safe warm swimming for the kids, but am worried the sea this time will be too cold and choppy for them. I am assuming this because of the breeze I keep reading about and the photos I have seen in the brochures.

The kids are not used to waves in the sea and I am a bit worried that the younger ones will struggle and be put off.

It would be lovely to know in advance just so that you can either put my mind at rest or help prepare us.

We're not far from Waikiki beach (ok for swimming?), but I am assuming that will be packed and we will have to get taxi and head out to Olivia or flag beach (are they the same?) or the sand dunes. We are looking forward to the Baku waterpark.

Any feedback on swimming and the sea would be great.

By the way thanks to everyone for all their info on this site. It really helped us choose our holiday. It was the reviews of Correlejo, particularly the restaurants, which swung it for us
