I don't believe he could run.

Oh yes, I do have a very strong character but I don't want to offend anyone if they're just being friendly!

Well, Mr Sinai, one has to wonder what is going on?
The Lion hasn't reported in after "allegedly" visiting your emporium recently, and now, we have had no reports on whether the lovely Liverpool Lass, Dor Dor and her entourage arrived safely and are enjoying their vacation?
Are you now holding visitors hostage and demanding further supplies of the dreaded "Marmite", or what?
Don't tell me you actually let them all climb the "Magic Tree"?
Reply
Yep.... and Dor Dor is still stuck up there !
Reply
Well, that's one accounted for! Do you think Whitelion may have fallen asleep on the plane and ended up in Katmandu or somewhere? Lets hope he didn't land somewhere where he's endangered :?:

I'm going to be "The Fairy" on the tree :rofl

Some of those flights we were discussing a page or so ago could be EasyJet by the summer...
EasayJet is buying GB Airways

Some discussion on the Turkey thread too...

PS - Dor et al, I presume you know why we traditionally put a fairy on the top of a Christmas tree?
Reply
Because it won't go underneath.

Some people have suggested that the fairy on the tree is a relic of the tree's pagan origins, but it's more likely that it started out as an angel. Both an angel and a star appeared in the skies at Christmas - the angel as a messenger to the shepherds and the star to the wise men.

Too right, Alan! We've got two flights booked with GB Airways, one of which will be fine, the second, under the Easyjet banner.
As Easyjet,in their wisdom, do not respond to any individual queries, we are unable to confirm their intended policy for the longer flight to Sharm, and, having booked and paid for an in-flight meal and a complimentary bar, we will probably have to cancel and book elsewhere. This could even mean rebooking with Easyjet if their prices are acceptable, but, true to form, there will be no chance of learning what the costs will be until the sale has gone through. Just another example of how the major T/O's and airlines care, not one iota, for the people who provide their profits!

Anyone seen any good flight offers to Sharm from Gatwick, early june 2008?

Ev. mate, you realise that Alan probably had a four page explanation prepared, with Latin and everything, and you've just ruined it?!

Not necessarily Carrot, not necessarily.
What Ev, mate suggests is one explanation but there is another"¦

Many years ago Santa had some Christmas trees to distribute among poor and needy families throughout the world. He gave one to each of the fairies and told them to go and find a suitable home for each of their trees.
The fairies travelled far and wide, each one finding a poor family and leaving them a beautiful Christmas tree. All except one fairy - she returned still carrying her tree;
"Santa" she said, "all the poor families have trees already."
Santa was not impressed; he thought this fairy had been lazy and not looked hard enough to find a home for her tree.
"Santa," she said again, "what shall I put this tree?"
And that's why there is a fairy on top of the Christmas tree!

Yeah, I know... miles and miles :offtop

And I always thought it was so we could look up their skirts !

Dor.... you may be the fairy on the tree.... ( you can come down now ).... but in three months time there'll be an orange fairy here trying to get up the tree !

Swiss - I was wondering if you can see Comet Holmes over the Saudi mountains - would be quite a sight through those super-binocuars of yours. It lies between the 'W' of Cassiopia and the Seven Sisters (Pleiades) at the moment.

Thinking of buying a place in Saudi, Alan?

By the way, there is no 'W' in Cassiopia.

I expect that those "super binoculars" have long been consigned to some cupboard, or even the staff quarters! Lets face it, he only wanted them as a status symbol and he has trouble holding them steady, even when he is sober, which, admittedly, is most of the time! We noticed that he always 'forgot' to take them to the beach, because they were so big and unwieldy, and kept getting one of the staff to go and fetch them for him! He even used little Willy as a tripod on occasions!

As for you, Mr. S., any more "orange fairy" comments and I'll tell them all about the rubber accessories that you keep hidden away in reception!

Seven Sisters ? I know my binos are pretty powerful, ( can spot an Orange Fairy a mile away with them ), but North London is a bit too far !

So where is this comet right now.... and directions that are understandable please !

How can I find something like this comet when I have nt a clue what this Cassiopia and Pleiades look like !

It like this Swiss my old blind mate - I put a link to a sky map in the previous post...

What do you think I am ?

The Link Fairy ??

I have seen the light !

Really Alan, I thought you were talking about the red light above the Magic Tree. Went upstairs like a right Charlie, ( no offence to the Longwood Charlies ), could only see stars. ( And of course that blinking red light ). Went out on to the balcony many times and looked for this constellation and that constellation, ( and not the Lockheed types ), and found nowt. Except for more stars.

Danced on the various websites like a true Link Fairy... until then... was told... watch out for the comet with the rising moon. Well I missed it - even though I waited - damn it, we mortals have to sleep a few winks here and then - but woke again just after 5 in the morning... the moon was climbing in the sky and there she was... a bright light just below the moon. And was she bright. You dont have to be in Nuweiba to see her - she's by far the brightest "star" in the sky after the moon !

(S)he flies proudly high above our house at night - easily seen by eye, and looks like a fuzzy ball through binoculars - quite impressive. Just thought that with the lack of stray light on the Swissbeach it should be really good.

Seems I missed something cos guests were claiming that they saw it in the west just after sunset and that they could clearly see the tail....
