Just been speaking with a friend in Marmaris. He tells me the Taj Mahal is being re-built in exactly the same place and on two floors. Anyone else heard this. One of my favorate Indian restaurants. Due to open next month he says.

I had heard it had been knocked down - along with the chinese/indian down the road (what used to be Hollywood/Bodrum in the good ol days
)
Didnt know it was being rebuilt - So thats good news, was a very popular restaurant.... even with its genuine indian chef all the way from Bradford!!

taj mahal is being rebuilt but its touch and go whether it will be ready for the start of the season. Same applies to the cinese down the road. The structure is up but nothing inside yet... will keep you posted

That would be great if you could keep us updated. Have to say it amazes me how quickly things are built in Turkey. They seemed to throw up Gima in no time at all. I also remember two Octobers ago standing in Club Alize thinking it's just a building site but they managed to have everything in place for 1st May. Do you know if there is any building or changes taking place down where the Daisy Bar used to be. It was a bit of an open space last season.

thats great news....thank you....hope its ready for the 12th of june....Gavin 
The baskan(mayor) has "culled" quite a few places in the the last year. I think daisey area will remain open to improve the look of the seafront. There are a lot of illegal builds, Gima being one!!!!! This guy wants to smarten up the image of Marmaris, and I think its a good idea. If he can nail the rude hustlers then he'll get my vote next term.
anybody know latest news on this restuarant,has it been pulled down or re built
It's been knocked down with a few shops along the main road, they are building again, but I'm sorry I don't know if the restaurant will have a position there.

Surely if it`s not up and running this will affect the Taj Mahal in Icmeler to, as all food in prepared in Marmaris?? Any clues to if its open or not??
I'm very interested to know if this will be open when I go in June - fab place! Does anyone have any info?

That's great Wilson, was worried that we wouldn't get our favourite food on holiday. I'm assuming the one in Icmeler will be open too as that's the one we eat in most. 
can anyone confirm if it is still going to be in the same place....thanks
love this restaurant so i'm looking forward to visiting it. Got to be ready by September

well its there right enough,and i must say looks great,and the food was great also...i can't belive they knocked it down and rebuilt it so quick. looking forward to the next visit...Gavin
