Goods may be imported into many countries but can be banned as far as tourists are concerned in specific countries.

A couple of months ago when I was leaving the UK from Dover there were signs everywhere saying that due to the foot and mouth outbreak, dairy products were banned from being taken abroad, so people were unloading their supplies on the docks. I know what products I am normally allowed to take into Germany I just wanted to know whether the ban was still in effect in the UK as I could not find any info. on whether it had been rescinded.
DEFRA say this , now the EU ban has been lifted you should be fine. Obviously anyone going to the USA would be in trouble.
Thanks Steve
