Hi, how much have you been quoted for the transfer? Monistir is quite a way from Hammemet - up to 2 hours from memory so whichever way you do it, it's going to be pricey compared to transfers for the Sousse area.

Hi SM. Thanks for responding. We have been quoted just over £100 pounds for a taxi transfer. Is this the going rate, do you know. We normally holiday in places that are 'off the beaten track' but always suspect the prices offered by the tourist/holiday booking companys. Cheers!

£100 is far too expensive. Negotiate when you get to Monastir. Don't take first price. Ask several taxi drivers. Depending on time of arrival expect to pay 60-100 Dinars.

How much would a private taxi cost from airport to hotel we are staying at the Magic Life in Hammamet

Any information on hotel would also be helpful. Or any thing we should know before we go

Will it still be hot first week of October ?

Hammamet is not really my area but I've seen a good report on that hotel

The weather should be lovely then, reasonably hot without the searing heat of high summer. If it isn't I'll not be a happy bunny as I'll be in Sousse.
Can't help with taxis but I'm sure there is some info on here if you just do a search. Are you arriving in Tunis or Monastir and at what time of day? Taxi fares go up after about 9 p.m.

Have a lovely holiday. Go with an open mind and don't expect it to be like the Costas because it isn't. The people are friendly, bartering (and tipping) is a way of life and despite what you may have heard they do take 'no' for an answer. 'la shokran' (no thank you) is even better. Try and learn a few words of Arabic before you go (the most useful ones are on HT) as that can give you a distinct advantage.

Less than 4 weeks now so I guess you're getting excited. I know I am, though I've been out there so often it's almost like my second home.

We should be arriving about midday at Monistir Airport. Only booked it yesterday so still trying to find out information on Hammamet .
