Get the bus from the Temple on the corner of the road in Calangute (where the road goes off to Anjuna...by the fish market) Bus to Panjim - pay fare on the bus 20rps each - takes about an hour. Get off at bus station and you then have to queue for a ticket for the bus to Margoa - 19rps each and about another hour. Get off at the bus station there and go to Platform 4 for the bus to Palolem - pay on the bus 20rps each - again about another hour. We asked the 'conductor' to put us off at Palolem - which he does and looks like you're in the middle of nowhere - but across the road there are a few tuk tuks. It's about a 60rp trip in one of these just around the corner...about 10 minutes? - Palolem itself.
Stay off the main roads as they are dangerous and not very scenic. You can get most of the way on little back roads and it's no bother navigating.
It's a great journey, take as long as you like.
Thanks , Jeep is another option! Buses sound a lot cheaper! how long did you stay down there for?
4 days and 4 nights...much nicer than Calangute We only got a taxi back as we were running out of time in the holiday - got one for 1,200 rps.
