Hello All,
I need a little advice from those in the know. A friend has asked me to send out a British telephone, landline, for use in Greece. Will it work as it is or will I also need to send some sort of adaptor out with it. I know that the connecting lead between the phone and the socket will have to be changed but is this all that is required.
I know that ideally they should buy a Greek phone but it's somewhat of a long story!
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.
Alan.
Just checked with my mate in the CIA.. ..
You're OK on the digital / analogue side.. ..

Just the plug
The UK standard plug is the BT431A. As far as i know Greece uses the US standard plug RJ11.
Several ways to fix this..
1) Buy a simple addapter

2) Find someone to change / swap the plug here or send out to Greece to get your friend to do it. Not sure if computer shops would have the plugs to do this but it is a basic and relatively cheap thing to do.
3) Most telephones have a plugin lead now. RJ11 on the telephone end and the BT plug on the socket end so you might be able to just swap the lead from a greek phone.
