Hi

it's gonna be hot!! I think it was around 40 last august.

paid locally just means that they have air conditionong, but not everyone uses it - so if you want it, you pay for it when you get there.

we went in sept last year, and although it was hot outside, it was fairly cool in the apartment so we never used the aircon. Depends on the apartments and how you feel.

have fun

That sounds good then, hopefully it will be cooler in our apartments. the apartments we had ih Rhodes wer hotter inside than outside so there was no getting away from it. spent most of my time shopping cos the shops all had air con. not that i was complaining ha ha any excuse to shop.. hee hee :tup

most apartments have shutters and windows - just keep the shutters closed, it's a little dark, but keeps it cooler. The advantage of paying locally is you can see what it's like when you get there. Sure you can find another excuse to hit the shops lol..

I love the heat but wouldn't dream of going to Corfu in August with no air con. Have holidayed in Santorini in August with no air con and it was stifling in the room. It won't be so bad for you in the day - as you say you're out and about and there'll be air con in the shops, bars etc and you can take a dip in the pool or sea to cool off. I think you'll find you'll be happy to pay for the air con in the room if only to get some relief from the heat to sleep. Have a great hol. I love Corfu!!

To say it will be hot is an understatement. Be prepared for the heat and definitely definitely get air conditioning. If the air conditioning has a timer, set it to come on 30 mins or so before you are due to be back from the pool, beach etc..
I remember a few years back we were in Turkey and the temp was in the 60's yes, 60's and without air con, I shudder to think what it would have been like.

Yeah, they cant say air con in their advertisment if it is just fans. But it is not cheap, sometimes 50euro per week so make sure you budget for it.

I have been in Greece for the last 5 summers and it has been upto 48c in August, but that is not the norm! It will probably be anywhere from 30 - 40c when you go.
