Hi Cazza,

It's actually called Cardiac Hill  For good reason too.....it's pretty steep and loooong. But having said that it's ok as long as your pretty fit. My only tip would be not to wear strappy sandals in the eveing with heels, as you walk down the hill your feet push pretty far forward and it can be painful as well as ruining your heels

Have a great holiday and remember the Taxis are cheap and plentiful if you can't cope with the trip up and down the hill

It is a steep hill up to Terrazas, but this isn't the one usually referred to as "Cardiac Hill" which is Calle Guanapay which runs perpendicular to the strip at the corner where Tito's is.
It seems there are a few hills referred to in PDC towards the Old Town end which are referred to as Cardiac Hill.
All of which is a mere detail, the hill is still there no matter who calls it what. You should also be aware that Terrazas is located at the far end of the Old Town, which is the furthest away from the main strip and the beach. It's a good 20 - 30 walk to the beach.
Make you stop off at the tiny Hanging Monkey bar on Calle Tiede which is on the road between your apartments and the Old Town, so will be a good resting place on the hill.

Cheers - Ole

 There definitely is only one Cardiac Hill, which is the road mentioned by Ole. What makes us laugh is that half way up on the right hand side is a gym! We reckoned if you are fit enough to walk up the hill to the gym, then you didn't need to use it

Madsue,

You must be avoiding Cardiac Hill - the gym was closed years ago !

I have just come back from these on thursday through mytravel and despite Puerto Del Carmen being enjoyable (especially Bar Tropical), the apartments are in an annoying place.
Taxis were 2.60 in day to main strip and 3.50 in the evening (after 6pm)
Our apartment were blocked off behind the pool bar thing that was never opened, as well as behind a massive cactus tree thing so we had no view and no sun, but we were hardly in the room anyway.
One thing that concerned us a lot, was the cracked wall by the door, the look in the door shows someone had tried to break in (not when we were there) as well as the massive cracks in the ceiling in the bathroom - more worried about having people falling through to us
