I would publically like to thank the people of Germany for their very kind hospitality and organisation of these World Cup games.
At Stuttgart we were greated warmly at the airport by local volunteer hosts who gave each person arriving a yellow rose. Before the game we walked around Stuttgart town centre and the atmosphire was amazing. Despite thousands of football fans gathered on mass, the Germany people treated us with the upmost courtesy. They were happy to offer directions and were patient with us when trying to work out how to use their public transport! The French and Swiss fans mixed well together as did fans from other nations.
Munich and Nuremberg were equally welcoming. The German public happy to welcome the football fans to their towns. The police were visable but seemed to be joining in the carnival type atmosphire thanks to the Trinidada & Tobago fans!. We even saw two British police officers in uniform walking around with two German officers. The co-operation seemed great.
At no point during my stay did we see any trouble. Football fans from all nations mixed well and there was only friendly rivalary. Fans shared drinks in the bars, laughed together and partied well together. I just wish it was the same in the UK at matches.
Well done to Germany for pulling out all the stops and putting on such a great event.
