Thanks Tracy,
Is it a bit posh & expensive, because after another year of marriage I like to go somewhere a little posher than the type of place you would eat at most nights of a holiday.

For the nicest/poshest/sexiest meal ever and in the nicest surroundings, pop in a dolmus/taxi to Gumusluk (about 20mins from Turgutries) and try the last restaurant of the row, The Mimosa. I promise you it is the best, although a little bit dearer than the rest!!!

Sounds great, thank you.
We don't do many posh restaurants (usually the local Indian or steak house!). So I like to have the nicest around for the wedding ann.
The White Dolphin is perfect for special meals, but I'm pretty sure it's too far to drive in a hire car.

Can I ask another question please?

Turkish bath
The hotel oness are normally very expensive & I don't expect the Agean Dream to be any different?? Where's a nice reasonable prices one local "ish" to the hotel, or do I need to go intop Bodrum or Cumbet??

Unless one has been built there recently, there isn't one in Turgutries. But there was a decent one in the main street/hill in Gumbet. Enjoy the bath and the soap massage, but don't fall for the expensive extra oil massage, not worth it.

Thanks BigPhil

I do like the extra oil massage though :D

The Belcikkiz beach hotel in Olu DEniz does the bath for £10 & the massage for £10. Really good for £20.

I've been to the Belcikdiz Beach for a massage, thought it was good but did enjoy the one in Gumbet more though.
You will enjoy it in Turgutries and it's new marina, smaller than Olu and Icmeler. But (in my opinion) in a better and more interesting place to explore the local sights. My favorite place in the world is only a short Dolmus away in a small village called Gumusluk (I have already told you about The Mindos restaraunt). A really interesting and beutiful place with a lot of history. You really must go there, take your snorkle, some swimming shoes and your camera. Bodrum is great too, Gumbet (except for the massage) is to be avoided unless you enjoy pie and chips, british beer and load music etc.

Thanks

Is that restaurant the Mimosa or the Mindos?

Drat, I'm not sure, but it's the last one you get to after all the others, you can't miss it. I promise you that you will mail me when you get back to say how much you both enjoyed it there.

Will find it & thank you very much for the recommendation :D

Can I ask another question :bhead

Are you all getting fed up of my endless questions, I've been to Olu, is Turgutreis similar in size to it, or smaller, or bigger?
Also Bodrum & Gumbet (I realise they are much larger) are they similar to Fethiye, or Agia Napa or where??

Bigphil, if you answer this, sorry to keep picking your brains. That restaurant is called Mimoza I think, I came across another review & that area, (can't remember spelling :? ) but anyone whos been there loves it, so will go there :D

Thanks

Turgutries is smaller than Olu, but more friendly because of it. Bodrum is similar to Fethiye in that it is an old and interesting city, plenty to see and do there. Gumbet is the same as many places in holiday countries, fish/pie and chips, cheap british lager and loud music, not my place.
I don't mind if you have any other questions if you PM me directly.
Cheers

Thank you Phil
I'm really glad you said it's smaller than Olu, I love Olu & I don't like big resorts, smaller is fine I was begining to worry it was a big resort.

Like you said I also got the impression Bodrum is worth a visit with lots to see & Gumbet sounds like Magaluf!!!

Again thank you Phil, will prob be PM-ing you very soon with more questions :D

Phil (or anyone who knows) :D

I have heard of a VERY posh restaurant outside Bodrum, "La Chaine des Rotisseurs" in the ANTIQUE THEATRE HOTEL.

Great write ups in Frommers ECT & views of the castle & harbour.

Anyone been there??
