No report of any court decision or anything about it opening in the press, however the Tibetan Market in Calangute was empty this afternoon as they are off setting up, and both Mackies & Ingos are going ahead tonight With nobody knowing for sure i would expect the crowds to be less than usual, still it's a step in the right direction Alan

Just to confirm that both Ingos and Mackies were finally open on Saturday, and seem set to stay that way for the rest of the season

There was an interview with Ingo in the Navhind Times a few days ago - he said that the market would probably not be in Arpora next season because the contract was up. He also (rather foolishly) said a lot of other stuff too which i think he has come to regret!!!.......see the link to Navhind Times letters page below....read and laugh at his response!!!

No wonder the police turned up at the market this week at 10pm and turned the music off!! Talk about putting your foot in it!!

All Tibetan markets are closed and have been for over a week as they are silently protesting against atrocities against Tibetans, it was terrible at Anjuna today they were all sat in silence with photos of the carnage that happened to people on 16th March, I was in tears at these terrible picutes of dead innocent protesters,

GFF I heard there is no Ingo's next season. Apparently holiday villas are being built on the land :que

Hi Gemma,
Ingo gave an interview to the local paper here and amongst other things he did say that his contract was up and the market would re-locate next year. As for holiday villas.......quite possibly, it seems that every available plot of land is being built on these days!!

Riviera Construction are building apartments called Riviera Foothills. Supposed to be 500 m from Ingo's market. Whether it will affect Ingo's, not sure! :que

Looks like Ingo's is on tonight, I've seen lots of the little rickshaw goods carriers heading towards arpora today.

Hi guys got back last night. Last Ingos this season was Saturday 13 April, apparently they are building on Ingos plot ( Riviera as previously stated) but I was told that they will re-locate and be up and running next season. We will just have to check out Ingo's website for info or our friends in Goa will let us know whats going on as some of them have stalls at Ingo's.

Sorry guys just realised my mistake the last market was 12 April not 13 and the last Mackies is this Saturday - not recovered from my flight yet! :whoops
