I know Glyis, no regrets. I didn't want to be too greedy and risk getting less if it droped suddenly. I'm happy enough :)

Just had an email from http://www.travelex.co.uk they have a happy hour tomorrow from 11am to 1 pm ( it's actually 2 hours!!!) :duh you get the idea ! Tuesday 17 th July Might be useful for any of you , worth a look eh?

With the biz rate now at 1.274, I would be jumping at that happy hour tomorrow Andy. I'm all set now though so don't need amy more currency.

I've just checked and the business rate on ukforex (which is the one I always check for consistency) is still over 1.27. I know that's not the rate you get when you need to exchange money but I find it easy to check whether the rate's going up or down.

its now 1.246
I have just bought pesos and dollars though

The biz rate is 1.2734 so still very good :tup

Where are they giving the 1.246 rate Fiona/

I'm having some €'s delivered tomorrow from Tesco at rate 1.241700.

I was able to use my Tesco CC without charge. "Credit Card Handling Fee: 0.00 Commission applied: 0.00 Delivery Fee: 0.00"

That sounds good, I've noticed that the large supermarkets do currency exchange but not yet used their services. I normally cheat and use the cashpoint at Folkestone stop 20 services as they have a cash machine their that dispenses euros which is handy.

I topped up a few 100€ on my fairfx card today at 1.2525 as a bit of a hedge in case the BOE minutes tomorrow alude to more QE or rate cuts, I'll draw the rest over there on Clarity at mastercard rate (1.275 for settlement yesterday)

Tarry, supermarkets like tesco and sainsburys use travelex to do their currency exchange , I have used the local tesco on many occasions quite handy if you just want to cash a bit , and their rates are ok, or I do travelex online with a debit card and do a pickup in the airport terminal.

Thanks Fiona.

I always use Tesco becasue of the no fee when using their credit card. This time I got half my money through them and then held on to see if the rate improved which it did :) I then exchanged the rest of my money through moneycorp because it worked out better value in the end than Tesco (travelex).

Well the market rate has just gone over the 1.28 mark for the first time in years? That should give a street rate of about 1.26ish which is great!

Have you seen what rate you get a the airport, a complete rip of, so hoping the mods here can tell us, who sets the rate in the uk airports, I change £40 and got backaround €40 minus commision £3.50

Thomas cook: £1 - €1.0095

and if you want to change euros back into pounds

£1 - €1.5800

While the rate is high and value for money, loading my card as soon as poosible to pay for next years holiday

If I load my card next week, with £600 when I get paid, this goes toward my booking for next year, and will save me alot o fmoney, as maybe come Jan 2013 the rate for the euro wont be that good
