The 2 resorts are joined so the walk won't take you that long. We stayed in Cala n Blanes and used to go into Forcat for our evenings out. The beach in Cala n Blanes isn't that big so might get crowded - depending when you are going.

The little train runs up until the early evening.

There's more bars/restaurants in Cala n Forcat plus small supermarkets. If you want some serious shopping the pop into Ciutadella on the bus - it's not far but there again nowhere's far in Menorca really. ;)
Menorca's a very laid back Island & is very family orientated, we never saw groups of teenagers etc for instance. If you want a nice, chilled out, quiet holiday then Menorca is ideal.

Menorca is very laid back but Cala n forcat is like a mini-magaluf !!
The rest of the island is absolutely fine.
It took us 15 mins to walk from centre of Forcat to the biggest beach in Blanes. There is a nice little carribbean style bar on the sand in amongst the palm trees and a restaurant just behind that. Not sure but may have been a few mossies there.
There is another beach near the Vista Picas (about 5mins) , its small but you may get lucky with some room.

Forcat/Los Delfines is probably the lowest class resort on the island, it caters for mass, low cost hotel packages , though has nice villa areas at the water' edge

It looks pretty enough and the hotel has great reviews so I am gonna stick with my instincts ..... :)

It's the kind of place you either love or hate - we all like different things so you go with your instict Abba Fan! Be sure to let us know how you get on though when you return.

I would stick with it huge*abba*fan. Recently came back from Menorca but did not make it there, however a woman I work with has just returned from Forcat with her partner & little girl and had such a great holiday she is rebooking for next year. I think it may be a purpose built resort designed for holidaymakers, but then that is what a lot of people like.

I forget the name of her apartments, she said there was a good selection of restaurants in resort and all the food was good and reasonably priced.

I wouldn't be put off, there is a lot of holiday snobery about - a holiday is what you make it - what hotel is it ?

I totally agree with - a holiday is what you make it and I normally go with my instincts but would normally go for a smaller hotel. I would normally stick with Thomsons but the flights from Newcastle were better with Thomas Cook.
Staying at Los Delfines.
Been spoilt by Turkey for the past 2 yrs - wanted a change :)

Hi again, Was trying to remember the name of the place my colleague stayed at (im on leave at the moment) don't think it was Los Delfines but not 100% certain, I know she got a brilliant deal with Thomas Cook as well so hopefully you should be OK. Been to Turkey myself a couple of times recently, but it is just as expensive to eat out there as the eurozone. We found eating out quite reasonable in Menorca in July, nice food, fish, chicken, quality steaks, seafood, lovely mediteranean grilled veg not pizzas/pasta etc if you like the later you could eat very cheaply.

Have a great time. :cheers
