Hi,
we went to Sa Coma 7 years ago, nice resort, great beach, from what i remember all the bars and restaurants are family friendly. We actually stayed in the Coma Gran which was absolutely brilliant. 5 mins walk to beach, close to bars, and the entertainment was excellent(we almost booked to go back there this year).
The only bad thing was the daily race for a sun loungers, but with the beach around the corner it's not really a problem.Enjoy your holiday.

Hi, We went to Sa Coma last August and loved it. The beach is fantastic!! We ate at J J's, Royal Oak, Juan's steak house,Sportsman, Britania and Kings Head. Most places have a very British menu and J J's was our favourite. Kings Head and Britania are very much the same type of place, the food wasn't great but they are fantastic places to go with young children if you want a meal and somewhere to stay all night and watch entertainment.

For those who aren't looking British bars with British menus it's worth pointing out that Sa Coma also has some very nice Spanish restaurants which are very child friendly.

Sa Coma is a lovely quiet resort. We went in June and Sept last year and are going again on 12th June. There are lots of restaurants and all the waiters are fantastic with kids. The beach is lovely and clean. We stayed at the Vista Badia but went to Coma Gran a couple of evenings for a drink. The hotel is lovely and clean but didnt rate the pool area much (very small). We asked our kids if they wanted to stay there but they said no. Its all about personal preference isnt it? :cheers

Suejayne, thats interesting. We went also last year (been to Sa Coma 13 times) and stayed at the Visat Badia. It was our 3rd visit to that hotel and the worst one imo. Since going AI, the place has gone downhill, packed out pool area with no room between sun beds and by 4.00pm was very wet and smelly. We spent our days at the wonderfull beach, even my kids didn't like it round the pool, however we had booked direct and were only self catering so didn't lose out when it came to the AI option. We did however visit the sister hotel next door, the Sa Coma Playa and it was a haven of tranquility and we intend to visit there next year.

Sa Coma itself is great, I am considering retirement there and if my 6 numbers ever come up will definately purchase a property there. We have seen it grow since our first visit in 1992. Any questions just ask because I have stayed in 6 different hotels and eaten at about 80% of the restaurants in the resort.

Hi Barnio
When did you stay at Vista Badia? We went last year on 11th June and 12th Sept. We had no problem getting sunbeds and the pool was never very busy. We upgraded to all inclusive as we got totally fed up of the food in the restaurants - can you recommend any nice ones for when we go in 11 days (on the countdown)!

Hi Suej, we were there in the peak, end of July and beginning of August which is probably why it was so busy. Because of the AI, most people stay at the hotel whereas when we went previously it was only SC or HB and many guests spent the day at the beach so the pool area was always what I would call "steady" with plenty of space and sun beds available.

We like to eat at El Sol on the main road, Salvatores (out of the Vista Badia main door and turn right and its the first restaurant you come to), the Kings Head for plenty of food at good value, the restaurant on the rounabout (cant remember its name) who serve excellent steaks and also we have never eaten at a bad chinese in Sa Coma yet and there are plenty. Over the years many have come and gone but we always vary our choice because we like to try different foods and environments etc and I really cant remember a bad meal apart from the Tex Mex which is one of them that has gone.

If you like a good night in a friendly place go to The British Sports Bar which although its name isn't all that apt is really owned by Gabriel, a lovely Mallorcan man who runs a fantastic family pub. He's got pool tables, air hockey chess boards etc etc and now 4 computers which the kids throng around for their MSN. Over the years he has become a firm friend and he invites us in for meals in the afternoon before he opens when we have lovely family Mallorcan meal. Tony his youngest spends many an afternoon with us at the beach and it really is heart warming watching him and my son play together even though they cant speak each others lingo - we get by perfectly.

Have a lovely holiday!!!

Thanks for that Barnio, there is a couple there that we havent tried, so will look forward to that. We went to Kings Head, which is the kids favourite. But I wanted to try something a bit different to "cheap and cheerful".
Thanks

Hi just returned from sa coma , spent 2 weeks at the coma gran ,it it very good for children .
We ate at the hotel for 5 days half board its really good value and great food, after that we found the royal oak was good for food and was always busy which is always a good sign.
The caprabo supermarket is very cheap if you plan on cooking at the hotel.
The coma gran itself is really good ive been twice now and enjoyed it both times, great entertainers and hotel staff.
Hope this helps ........

Me and 3 friends are coming to Sa Coma on 13 June for a long weekend ;) NO KIDS :cheers. Are we going to be surrounded by families or will there be a mix of people in the resort? Not looking for anything wild but would like a nice meal and a few lively bars. Maybe Magalluf would have been a better choice?

I don't rate any of the restaurants in sa coma, most are british and I think oasis is a bit of a rip off, had steak there tuff as old boots expensive drinks and small portions. Jacket spud they give is the size of a extra large egg, think they would give 2 or 3 seeing they are so tiny.

I have been to sa coma 3 times and I like sa coma lovely little resort with a very nice beach.

What I like about Sa Coma is its close proximity to S'illot, Cala Millor and Cala Bona. I'm sure we will find a few decent places to eat. Just hope it's not TOO quiet .

Any replies appreciated. What is Sa Coma like for singles???

Hi para Sa coma itself is a familly orientated resort and most entertainment is hotel based , but there are loads of bars , kareoke , restaurants etc .
Not sure about clubs as never visited any as i have 2 small kids , but im sure if you want to party a bit there will be plenty for you to do , Delaneys , Kings Head & and The Britania bar have live acts / bands every night.
Hope this helps Dirk

Thanks for that dirk. I have been to Sa Coma before but with other families, once early May and October. Both times it was very quiet. Just hope its a bit busier next weekend. No bothered about nightclubs just a few lively bars. I'm sure we'll have a great time; freedom from the kids for a few days :yipee :D
