We were given vouchers at arrivals in the airport for free kids at Baku water park , so we decided to use them. It was a good day out, we went last December, it was quiet.

There were slides for little ones, the rubber boat one I could sit with my 5 year old in front.

There were some that the children were too small for.

Hire a car.

Go and see El Cotillo on the west coast - beautiful unspoilt beaches and lots of surfing to watch and take part in.

Drive down to Jandia on the south east coast - mile upon mile of sandy beaches.

I never went on any excursions, as I believe a trip to Lanzarote wouldnt be all that fulfilling really - same place but even more commercialised than Corralejo and indeed Fuerte is becoming, sadly.

Hi mooby, I have never hired a car on holiday.Stupid question does a full uk licence cover you?If so what is the cost to hire a car on a daily rate?

UK license is all you need - but take your paper copy as well just in case.

I hired using Autorisen who were very cheap at 160 quid for 15 days - although some people have had issues with them regarding car maintenence

We went a few years ago and can highly recommend a trip on a glass bottom boat - we were lucky enough to see dolphins and all sorts of marine fish and had a stop for banana boating, jet skiing and swimming off the back of the boat.

We also went on the ferry over to Lanzarote and simply booked and paid for it at the ferry port in Fuertaventura. They run regularly.

We went self-catering and booked our own accommodation, but booked our excursion through a travel rep in a local hotel who was happy to take our booking even though we were not staying in the hotel.

Another great day out is to hire a car and you can drive a lot of the island in one day - the island varies very much in landscape and it is well worth seeing.

Has anyone here used Tourventura for excursions? We'll be arriving in Caleta in 9 weeks time for the Easter holidays and I'm interested in doing their North Tour, Oasis Park and possibly Jandia Express trips, and maybe the glass-bottom boat (but not the catamaran, I was rather queasy on the catamaran in Tenerife a couple of years ago ...)
I'd just like to know if the tour guides are English (or English-speaking) and if the trips are good value for money. Do they pick you up from the hotel, or do you have to walk down to a pick-up point (we'll be staying at the Caleta Dorada) and do they have stops where you have to watch rug-making/wine-tasting etc?

We did the north tour two years ago and would fully recommend it. There was a trip inland to a goat farm where you saw the cheese being made and had the chance to buy some, followed by the journey up for an afternoon in Corralejo (on market day). It was really good and value for money, much cheaper than going through your tour company.

Our rep that day was Hazel (I think) and she was a very funny and friendly Scot.

Last year we went on the Oasis Park trip, but Tourventura only booked that for us as a third party - all the buses and reps were supplied by Oasis Park. That was a long tiring day which I would not recommend for those with young children. Much better to hire a car and do it yourself.

We got picked up at a central point in Caleta for the North tour and outside our hotel for the Oasis Park.

Thanks for the reply When we were on holiday in Lanza a couple of years ago we did a day trip over to Fuerte which covered what seems like a similar route to the Fuerte North Tour (Antigua, Betancuria, Pajara, Corralejo dunes) however I'd like to do it again anyway. I don't drive so hiring a car is out of the question. My kids are teenagers so they don't mind longer journeys, as long as they don't feel they're missing out on some important activity at the hotel The Oasis Park trip doesn't appear to be any longer than when we've stayed in the south of Tenerife and travelled up to Loro Parque in the north.
Good to hear at least one of the tour guides is British, although we had a lovely Canarian guide on the aforementioned Fuerte island tour, very entertaining and helpful.

Hi I have just been to the excursion office on the main street in Correlejo to pick up a leaflet, so that I can put the excursion details on here. The shop is called Last Minute and is in the middle of the high street.
Please note that these are not suitable for those of you staying in Caleta de Fuste.
Ok here goes, please bear in mind that if you are reading this in the future, that prices are correct at the time of going to press.

1)Island Tour
Discover the real Fuerteventura, travel through the centre of the island, up the mountains and take in all the traditional village along the way. Spend time in the old capital Betencuria and sample the local produce at the goat farm/visitor centre. Enjoy a visit to the eco-museum in Tefia. All entrance fees included. 2) Jandia Express
4 hours to shop in the tax free haven of Jandia and relax on it's caribbean style beaches. A visit to an Aloe Vera plantation included. Monday adults 20 euros, kids 12 euros.
3)Deep Sea Fishing
51/2 hours fishing between Lanzrote and Fuerteventura for tuna, barracuda and even shark! Equipment, bait, transport and a snack included. Daily Adults 60 euros, kids 60 euros.
4)Windsurfing, Surfing, Kite Surfing, Boogie Board
With Correlejo's watersport specialist on Flag Beach. We offer a wide range of activities such as beginner to advance courses and private lessons, as well as equipment to rent. Daily from 45 euros.

Venture across desert and volcanic landscapes on our alternative island tour. Driving licence required. Daily please check for prices.
6)Lanzarote South Tour
After your pick up we will arrive at the port of Correlejo where you will board the ferry for the crossing to Playa Blanca. Travel to Timanfaya National Park where you will see demonstations of the heat beneath the surface of the lava fields. At the Camel Park you will have the opportunity to ride one of these fascinating creatures. At "El Golfo" you can walk down to "El Charco De Los Clicos"(the green lagoon). The rugged coastline of Los Hervidoros leads us to the salt pans of Janubio. At this scientific place of interest you will learn about the importance of salt extraction in the islands history. Lunch in a picturesque traditional village is followed by a journey through the unusual vineyards of "la geria", with a stop for some wine tasting. We board the ferry for our return trip at 5pm, arriving back into Correlejo at 5.30pm. Monday and Thursday, adults 50 euros,kids 25. 7)Lanzarote Grand Tour
Exactly the same as the itinery for the South tour then you do the following. We head northbound, through Teguise the ancient capital, arriving at the highest point Penas Del Chache (671m). Through the winding roads we make our way to the mirador of Guinate, another spectacular viewpoint. Our visit to Los Jameos del Agua is a great end to the day. Here the gifted Cesar Manrique has left his mark. Enchanting subterranean gardens and the magnificent audotorium are examples of the artists genius. Los Jamos is also home to the blind albino crab. Don't forget to look around "La Casa De Los Volcanes" dedicated to volcanology studies. We board the ferry at 7pm to arrive back at 7.30 pm.
Tuesday and Thursday adults 60 euros, kids 30 euros.
8)Lanzarote Shopping
Shop till you drop while you visit one of the livliest resorts on the Canary Islands, puerto del Carmen. Come with us on a boat trip to Lanzarote, once there we will be able to enjoy a day of leisure and shopping. On the cruise back we will stop to feed the fish and see the spectacular view of hundreds of fishes on a volcanic environment thanks to thr 32 submarine windows on the Princess Ico. If we are lucky enough we might get to see some whales and dolphins. Various days. From Correlejo adults 32 euros, kids 16 euros. From Caleta adults 35 euros, kids 17.5 euros.
9) Fuerteventura Grand Tour
On departing Correlejo, we head along the main road to the south, passing La Oliva and Tindaya with its sacred mountain. Next our journey takes us to a traditional local farm where you will see goats in their natural habitat. Then we will go on to the former capital Betencuria where time seems to stand still. Her you will have time to explore. From Betencuria we will drive to Pajara, a real life oasis at the foot of the mountains and we will follow the orad to La Pared which is a reminder of the ancient border between north and south. Finally we arrive in the south with its breathtaking beaches, the perfect place to enjoy our lunch before heading back north. Our home route will take us through the centre of the island and continuing along the east coast, passing by Caleta, Puerto del Rosario and the dunes of Correlejo, estimated arrival 6pm.
Tuesdays adults 35 euros, kids 16 euros.
10) Oasis Park
This is a long day from 7.30 am to about 8pm so be warned!
La Latija Oasis Park, situated in the South of the island is open all year round. It is a natural paradise of more than 780,000 m2. This is an important conservation area for the flora and fauna of the island. There are animals from all over the world, as well as goats, donkeys and the "Majorero camel". Oasis Park offers you a lot of interesting and very entertaining shows, and of course don't forget our camel safari.
Daily not including lunch, adults 33.5 euros, kids 16.75 euros. With buffet lunch included adults, 43 euros, kids 21.5 euros. Note the camel ride is not included in the price.
11) Catalanza
A half day excursion on a beautiful catamaran. Refreshments and snacks included. The catamaran anchors off the coast of Lanzarote where you can swim, snorkel or just catch the rays. A jet ski ride is included in the price
A fantastic excursion for young and old alike. There are adults only days as well for those who prefer them.

Hi,
I just spent 2 hours on Sunday afternoon learning to kite buggy.
My wife bought me it for a birthday present.
I turned up not knowing what to expect, but I had a great time.
We started off by getting the kite out and I was shown how to control it in the wind to gain momentum. It was harder than it looked and it was a good 30 minutes before I felt confident enough to get into the buggy.
I was wearing a crash helmet (ooh my hair) and Simon, the instructor made sure I was safe at all times.
The buggy was really easy to manouvre and we went in a figure of eight around an obstacle course. It was very difficult to do this smoothly, mainly because stupid people kept walking in front of me to get off the beach.
I know it is a public space, but honestly some folks are just plain awkward.
The best bit was when I was doing it wrong as the wind would carry me off down the beach at speed. Simon kept giving me another go, then another and before we knew it I had done over 2 hours.
