With so many visitors due to descend upon Glasgow, has anyone got any tips or recommendations for Glasgow?
I can start with a couple
The Burrell Collection- info here. It houses a vast collection of objects and art from around the world. I loved this place- you can spend hours there.
The Burrell Collection is within Pollock Country Park which is worth some time( if the weather is good)
Glasgow Botanic Gardens- Loved this place as well. Website here has lots of information and a virtual tour.
Tenement House a time capsule of a flat as it would have been in the early 20th century. More info in the link.
I am sure others have tips. Its been a few years since I've spent a few days in Glasgow so I can't recommend shopping or bars and restaurants.
There is, however, lots more Macintosh thing to view, just google ‘glasgow macintosh’, and enjoy
The Riverside Museum as it now like to be called or as all from the Glasgow area will always call it - The Transport Museum.
The Tall Ship 'The Glenlee' is also located at the Transport Museum, again with free entry http://thetallship.com/index.aspx
Also located at Riverside you can go for a speedboat ride on the Clyde, having my RYA Powerboat Certificate and having done these tours I can personally vouch for this one -

One of my favourites is The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, free once again.
There is always something going on in 'Glesga' and you can find loads of information in the council website http://www.glasgowlife.org.uk/Pages/default.aspx
For the adults you might like a tour of a brewery -

Just outside Glasgow at Clydebank a Malt Whisky Distillery

Going for a meal and want a deal - http://www.5pm.co.uk
Again outside Glasgow a wee bit but with easy train access, is the Scottish Fire Service Museum (check opening times first)

In Glasgow the Police have a museum, did you know that Glasgow had the very first police force in the UK?

Great day for kids of all ages Glasgow Science Centre http://www.glasgowsciencecentre.org
For something a little different why not try one of these amazing 2 experiences on sea and air -
Go 'Doon the Water' on the worlds LAST sea going Paddle Steamer, this is a great day out -

A real visual treat, take off / land on the Clyde in the city centre and see Glasgow skyline or go further and fly up to Loch Lomond (wave to me as you come in to land and pass over my house ) or even go as far as Oban and see the magnificent scenery of Scotland's West Coast.

Finally for something a little different, visit Ashton Lane in the West End just off Byres Rd (Hillhead Underground station) here you will find a vibrant little street located just behind Byres Rd full of little bars and some shops and a small cinema, also home to 'The Chip' a well know restaurant -The Ubiquitous Chip
I've heard the shopping is good too
