Hi,
had a great holiday in Costa Adeje from 18th x 25th May 07. Everything was perfect apart from going through security at Tenerife South airport on my return home. I was a bit annoyed at the time but now I can laugh at it.... I had my unopened bottle of water confiscated from my hand luggage from a very large and frightening female security guard after going through the scanner. She kept repeating "no allowed" in a heavy spanish accent.
I willingly gave up the water and proceded through into departures. However I glanced back towards the Security officer and was amazed to see that she started to open MY bottle and have a good swig from it!!!
Terrorism? huh....I don't think so! I then bought a replacement water from the departure shops at 10x the cost! lol

He moaned about it all the way home ...... it has only been in force since last September ... but NOBODY had told him....
I should know better living here, but last time I went to the UK for a holiday I stupidly put two 1 litre bottles of gin in our hand luggage. Securigad officer duly took them both off me.
The security lady put the bag through the machine again, called her supervisor over to show him the screen (we couldn't see what they were looking at) they discussed it and he let the bag through.
We have been more careful since.

We had a bottle of Brandy and Whisky (for the in-laws) removed when we were there is January!! The security guard had great pleasure in pouring it away in front of us Our own fault though as we hadnt taken notice of the posters, it just annoys me though that once you have passed through you can buy again in departures. Back there again August
