Tholos???

Hi!

You're right Tholos is fairly quiet - most of the restaurants and bars are along the one main street through the resort. It's not always quiet though, i've had a few good nights there with the right crowd.

You can easily visit other resorts as the local buses run along the main coast road through Paradissi, Kremasti, Trianda and Ixia to Rhodes Town. Along time since i've got a taxi back from Rhodes Town to Tholos but i'd guess you'll pay around 18/20 euros. It's very easy to get back as there are taxi ranks in Rhodes Town or you can just flag one down in the street.

If you take the local bus in the opposite direction you can visit Ancient Kamiros and just down from there is an excellent beach (much better than the resort beaches on this coast).

If you're self catering don't miss the old village of Tholos. There's an excellent greek taverna hidden in the small village streets - great food and much cheaper than the tourist restaurants. Walk down the main street to the petrol station, turn left, up the hill and then left into the village.

Ooh, Marcus, I'll certainly second your recommendation for the taverna. My mouth is watering at the thought of some of the lovely meals we've had there!!

Thanks Marcus,

That little Taverna sounds very nice, I will try to check the place out.

I guess that the taxi service will be a little more expensive by now. I assume there is a regular bus service to Rhodes town by day?

I am looking forward to the holiday, can't get too excite yet as I am still very busy at work :bhead .

Thanks

Catch you soon.

Yes buses v regular during the day and your rep or reception should be able to advise of times and fares. The 18/20 euros was an estimate by todays prices - if i visit Tholos now it's nearly always by car (i think the last time i got a taxi it was drachmas!!).

You got any info on the Gerogia appartments, I can find too much about them. They seem okay as it goes.

Everytime I enter info on a search engine it comes up with Georgia appartments Affandou? (Sp?)

Again thanks for the info much apprecioated!!!

Hi
Don't know the Georgia in Tholos (there's probably more reviews, etc for Georgia Afandou as it's been going donkeys years). Had a quick check and i found a few reviews on http://www.holidays-uncovered.co.uk which all seem fairly positive. The sites a bit of a nightmare as you'll have to pick out Tholos and scroll through a load of reviews you don't want but there's about 4/5 when you get down to Georgia.
