Travellers cheques are not worth it and I doubt how easy the Thomas cook cash passport will be to get cash.

The best way to obtain foreign currency with no charges is by withdrawing from ATMs using the Nationwide Flex A/c Debit Card, you also receive a better rate than you would for cash.
The drawbacks of both Travellers Cheques & the Thomas Cook Card are the associated charges.
With Travellers Cheques you pay to buy them and also receive a lower rate than you would for cash to exchange them. I understand that the Passpost Card charges a percentage (2%?) to load cash into it, plus a fee for each withdrawal from ATMs in your holiday destination.
Similar fees usually apply to other 'pre-paid' cards of this type, e.g. Post Office Travel Money Card.
