Has anyone used one of the above please? It's like a debit card, but you can only spend what you have loaded on, it also allows you to use ATM machines with your own pin number. We're going to Florida and this seems like a better idea than carrying travellers chqs and your passport everywhere!
Many thanks
Sarah
I got a similar one form Co-op Travel last year and have used it 2 years running to Cyprus.
Thanks Irene, they do seem a safer option.
Thanks Luci. I've read the T&C's with this & the only charge is for an ATM withdrawal, $2.50 a time, but you can withdraw up to $800 a day. There is also a non-usage charge, but that's if the card is not used for 15 months, in which time we will cancel it. I think I've read them all correctly!
You should also check the rate you will be getting if you are gettiing one in USD or Euros. Fairfx have one of the best rates followed by Caxton.
