Darren,

another question for you.

We're looking at going to POP in December and can either go from gatwick on the 28th December or the 31st.

Flight numbers are TOM038 on the 28th and TOM 080 on the 31th. Have you any idea if either or both are ex FCA fleet rather than TOM fleet.

Many thanks

It will more than likely be ex FCA as the company tends to farm out the ex Thomsonfly fleet in the winter which they can't do with the former aircraft. However don't book your holiday on that strength as there will be a small number in the fleet this winter and things are changing daily.

With the problems in Mexico, they may put the higher capacity(ex thomsonfly) aircraft onto Dominican Republic routes.

I've just noticed whilst looking on the Thomson website that there is a flight to Punta Cana the day before we fly that I don't think was available before and I am wondering if this has been put on as extra to accommodate the travellers who have switched from Mexico? The flight no is TOM802 on 5th May- our flight is the next day (6th May) and is TOM127. Any info would be appreciated. Also any info on IFE for May yet?? :tup

Hi,

After re-directing from Mexico (boo-hoo), we're now on a flight to Punta Cana TOM802 on 12th May from LGW. Seems this is a newly added flight, any ideas on what aircraft? We've managed to get premium seats, so I presume it will be a 2-3-2 config?

Thanks.

Anyfin,

This Does Indeed Look To Be A Recently Added Flight, It Will Be Operated By A Boeing 767-300/ER, Most Probably It Will Be An ex First Choice Although As You Are Booked Into Premium It Will Not Make A Difference As Both The ex TOM and ex FCA Are 2-3-2 Configured

Dazbo, thanks for the reply.
We will be flying LGW to SANFORD on 7th Aug 2010.
I thought the Dreamliners had been delayed?

Hi guys,
I posted a message a few months ago about my flight - no details were available at the time so thought i'd check again...

BHX - IBZ
6th June TOM7632

IBZ - BHX
13th June TOM7633

It was suggested a B752 as a guess last time, can this now be taken as gospel (assuming no tech. issues)?

Much appreciated

rachie-m,

The 787's have been delayed and were supposed to be entering the Thomson Airways fleet today! However, the type hasn't made its maiden flight as yet and they are expected in May 2010. Your guess is as good as mine if they make it by then or not. If its a 767, chances are it'll be an ex-FCA, but it's a long time off yet.

papa_echo,

BHX-IBZ-BHX (TOM7632/3) are indeed operated by a Boeing 757-200. This won't change unless there's a technical problem.

Thanks Gower :)

As soon as you can find out what the IFE is for the month, I'd be most grateful (he he). At least I know I can pause, stop, rewind etc. I'm glad we're back to flying with Thomson, didn't fancy Thomas Cook at all.

So it looks like the TOM802 is going from LGW to MAN to PUJ doesn't it?

Hi, your help please. Looked through lots of threads but cannot find an answer.

Flying with Thomson in a couple of weeks from LGW to Sandford, Florida. I understand we can check bags in the night before the flight but cannot obtain boarding cards until the following day due to extra security.

Question. If we check in bags the night before, can we get our seats allocated at that time and just collect the boarding cards the next day. Or...can we only get our seats allocated when we get the boarding cards the following day.

Many thanks for your help.

pilotcanary,

When you check-in the day before, you'll be fully checked-in including seating allocated. This is done 24 hours before your flight anyway so you'll know what your seats are.

Thanks Darren

This is a great help & good to know. I realise I will queue twice but at least in the morning I will only be queing to collect the boarding passes, knowing my seats are allocated. Sad I know but, I can only relax once I know I have a window seat.

Thanks for a great forum.

So if you do night before you have to queue again in the morning? I didn't realise this. So what is the advantage of night before if you have to queue twice? We have already got our seats allocated but were going to do night before so that we had more time in the morning but if we have to queue again this won't be the case. Can someone enlighten me please as I certainly don't want to queue twice!
Many thanks

deblight,

This is only applies to departures to America (Orlando Sanford) for security reasons. You'll get your boarding cards the night before to all other destinations.
