hi just booked to go to turkey antalya on 2nd oct with firstchoice flight tom 718/719 back as from an earlier post i believe this is an a321 is this still the case? what ife does this have? and which sector does it do beforehand?
Flight TOM718 is operated on a A320 not the A321 its a smaller variant. Before you flight the aircraft comes in from Zakinthos.
The IFE will be provided by drop down LCD Screens every 4 rows at both sizes of the aircraft.
More information can be found on our What Aircraft Guide
Thanks

I am looking to book a flight to Cancun for next year. I normally fly Thomson / First Choice however after my recent flight back (23.08.09) once again without premium seats (3 out of 7 flights with them over the last few years) that I had paid for I am considering flying Thomas Cook. Does anyone have any experience / comparison between the 2 airlines -both Premium seating and economy and levels of service etc.
Also has anyone who has not had premium service lately yet received a refund as I am still waiting!!!!
Thanks
jonboy
Thanks ZJC for the info
http://www.airlinequality.com they have reviews of both Thomson and Thomas Cook(abreviated to Thos cook on their website)
Thomson have recently launched a complaints/after care team in Luton, all complaints go via Manchester still but the Luton team are slowly dealing with more and more complaints as I understand it. You maybe better off directing you claim for refund directly to the new team in Luton.
You maybe better off asking in the Thomas Cook Forum for reviews, also try Thomson have recently launched a complaints/after care team in Luton, all complaints go via Manchester still but the Luton team are slowly dealing with more and more complaints as I understand it. Help please , flying to Tunisia with Thomson in October . Do i have to give API or should i have been asked for this when booking . There is something in the Holiday Complaints section about this and that people have been charged for not supplying the info . Is it worth phoning the travel agent and asking about this .
I looked on the Thomson website and they say its done at check-in, 1/2 down the page on this link is the info.

thank you Angie , panic over .
hi can anyone tell me what plane i will be flying on tom662/3? and is it a long haul aircraft? as i've heard that this flight keeps getting the plane changed.
Can anyone tell me what aircraft we will be flying on:- Manchester to Tenerife, Tuesday 29th December 09.30 flight number TOM 2244. We have just been to Menorca with Thomsons and flew on the 767 and was very impressed.
The winter schedules are not confirmed yet, however its showing as a 757 on my winter flying programme. They do the job but are not as passenger friendly as the 767's especially the ones with seatback IFE.
BHX-CUN-BHX is usually ok due to having quite some time after its previous flight to sort any problems out, unlike TOM196/7 which only has an hour or so and a decision has to be made about using the "spare aircraft"
I think TOM196/7 has been a terrible flight for Thomson this year, still not heard back from my complaint letter and its been a month the did send me a letter saying they would be 2-3 weeks.
I do feel sorry for thomson in a way as it must of cost them a fortune changing the flight but hopefully they will learn from there mistakes.

Can anyone advise of the AC type on tomorrows (10/09) TOM 2468 MAN-ACE

Have A Great Holiday

I don't think Thomson have made any mistakes, i'm not defending Thomson because I work for them and a change of aircraft would be the worst thing that could happen to my holiday. Whilst its not nice to have a change, Thomson operations made the right decisions in every situation i'm aware of for the majority of their customers and in the long term as well.
Earlier on in the summer G-OOBM got damaged by a staircase in Punta Cana, G-DBLA (which caused your o/b problem) had a heavy landing and had to have its landing gear changed, There were also major problems with G-PJLO's IFE that resulted in extensive wiring problems.
Can someone clarify exactly how heavy a bag we can take - 5kg or 10kg on a long haul flight such as this with Thomson. They give a generous size dimesions of bag but if you have a decent size cabin bag its most of the 5kg gone before you pack anything!!
And is the main allowance 20 or 23kg?
Its rather confusing really as Thomson say you can have either 5KG or 7KG hand luggage and either 20KG or 23KG hold luggage, depending on what package you have booked. If its a Thomsom Platinum holiday you get the extra allowance if it isn't you will get the standard. Its best to contact your tour operator for this information as unfortunately I dont have specific information about each tour operator and there cruise packages.
I would imagine with it being a cruise you will get the extra allowance.

No I agree they did there best to avoid any delays to my holidays and other holidays too which has good on there behalf. They could of had us sat in Manchester for 10 hours waiting for the aircraft to be repaired.
It sounds like the poor first choice 767's are getting a real "Battering" this summer season. Must be costing an arm and a leg in maintenance fees.
I hope they get there fleet back on track for next year.
