dinner-lady,

Your Question Is About A Thomas Cook Flight And Would Be Better Posted In Our Thomas Cook Thread.

It Is Very Early To Know The Exact Aircraft That Will Be Operating Flights In Next Years Summer Season (2010) As We Haven't Even Finished This One !!

I Would Expect However Your Flight To Be Operated By An Airbus A320, If You Check Back With Us Nearer The Time We Will Know For Certain

Hi

We are going to Sharm El Sheikh tomorrow 14 Sep.- LGW TOM 652 returning 28 sep. Tom 653.
Can anyone tell me what aircraft it will be and whether we will have seat back IFE please?

Thanks

nedbowler,

Your Flights Will Be Operated By A Thomson Airways Boeing 767-304/ER (ex Thomsonfly In Short Haul Configuration)

Tomorrows Flight Should Be Operated By G-OBYG, With Seatback IFE.
It Operates Flight TOM4121 (Palma - Gatwick) Before Operating Yours.

Excellent stuff from the posters keeping up with all the requests for info, so thanks in advance.

Off to Mexico out of Manchester on 18/11 on Tom 148 returning 29/11 TOM 145, can you post the aircraft type and whether its ex fc or thomson. Also if poss, are there are any seats in premium cabin to avoid ie bulkheads, no windows etc...

And for a bonus point what colour will the captains underpants be! ;)

Thanks again

NeilTheBeaver,

Your Flights TOM148 And TOM149 (I Presume Your's Is A Typing Error As There Is No 145) Will Be Operated By A Thomson Airways Boeing 767-300/ER ex First Choice (Most Probably, Your Flights Are On The Winter Schedule Which Has Not Yet Started So We Can't Know For Sure)

Seating Is Very Much Personal Preference And Seating Plans Can Be Found On Our What Aircraft? Thread

It's that age-old dilemma with booking charter airline flights..............do we book now, or wait until a couple of weeks before intended departure date (15 Feb 2010)??

The reason I ask is that, for the past 2 years, when I've checked the prices some 2 weeks, or even 1 week beforehand, I've discovered that the prices have dropped by as much as 60%!!

The route we're taking is Gatwick to Funchal , dep 15 Feb 2010 (2 pax) and 22 Feb (2 pax), with all 4 of us returning on 01 Mar.

It would seem from previous postings that the aircraft size has been increased this year from a 737-200 to a 757-200....so capacity up from around 150 to 240 seats...........but then Thomsons have dropped their LTN-FNC route for this time of the year, so maybe more will be travelling from Gatwick instead!!

I know that they're won't be a definitive answer to this dilemma...........but would appreciate other folks views please.

Also, would it be best to book direct with ThomsonFly's website, or check out their high street travel agents for the best prices?

I've tried Avro, but this route is not available via them.

Many thanks!

mrtiggles,
I face the same dilemma when booking my holiday/flights. Since I travel to the same destination I just wait untill the price matches or is very close to the price I paid.

The flights are operated by a Boeing 757-200 aircraft.

Like I said I sit on it and wait for the price to closely match if it doesn't i usually book around 6 months before travelling.

I have found the highstreet to be overpriced and Portland Direct to be cheaper for package deals.

I don't fully understand what you are asking us but I hope I have helped.

hi. i realise this is a long way off yet but next august we are flying from manchester to marsa alam on thomson airways. does anyone know what type of plane is normally used on this route? i would guess a 757 or 767, but with marsa alam being a comparitively small resort am unsure, would appreciate anyones educated guesses or knowledge from this summers schedule

This year Thomson used a 757, last year a 767. Its more than likely to be a the same as this year as next summer Thomson will have 2 less 767's in the fleet.

thanks for that. i assume the 757 wont have seatback screens am i correct? do thomson use any airbus aircraft or just boeing?

mikeandrach,
The 757-200 don't have seatback IFE no its provided by screens above the isles.
They use the Airbus A320 aircraft on selection routes

thanks for your quick reply. we flew from man-mle on 7th august, 767 i believe it was g-oobl. the seatback tv in our row didnt work for tv or movies, we were in premium. i have written to complain and ask for that sectors upgrade to be refunded, as th bigger screen was my main reason for upgrading. am i likely to get a refund or will they fight me?

do you know what airbus they use? if a 757 is it a winglet version with 3-3 seat config?

Hi

We're going on a Thomson holiday booked via the Thomson website to Alghero, Sardinia. However, our flight numbers begin with BE so I'm not sure if it's some other airline.

Anyway, our flights are:

BE9431 - Birmingham to Alghero on 19/9/09
BE9432 - Alghero to Birmingham on 26/9/09

Does anybody know what airline/aircraft it is?

Thanks

Jamescaw,
That flight code is for FlyBe Airlines not Thomson Airways
The flight however is operated by a FlyBe E190.
You will find more information dotted about the forums and the internet.

Thanks

mikeandrach,
They may fight a bit but I would imagine they will give you a part refund. As you still got the legroom and premium service its was just the tv's at fault. I wouldn't expect a full refund for that.

They use the Airbus A320 but not on the flight you have posted about.

They have a selection of 757's with winglets it just depends if you happen to get that aircraft on the day. There 757 is in the 3-3 configuration.

Sorry to be picky, but Flybe only have Embraer 195's (slightly longer than the E190).
Seating configuration is 2-2.

thanks. i know what you mean, but 11 hours with no movies or tv is really frustrating. hope they may consider the full refund for that sector as goodwill for the boredom, i know i had the games, but hangman etc becomes very dull after the first 2 games!

i wish it was an airbus, find them much more comfortable. do they winglets make any difference to how the plane feels to passengers?
