mike123,

TOM172 is scheduled to be operated by a ex FCA aircraft. There have been some delays due to technical problems with Aircraft over the past couple of weeks. However everything is sorted and running as normall now.

Hiya! Back on page 90 Gower helped me with a problem I was having booking a Thomson flight, which got resolved. (Shame, that in my excitement I didn't check the TCX page first - would have saved myself some money :duh )

I now have more questions - sorry! I received the normal booking confirmations for both the ACE/EXE flight and the BRS/ACE, which both had the same information on them. I have since received further confirmations for both flights saying different things!!!

The ACE/EXE confirmation states that "I MUST print out and present this confirmation in order to check in" - no problem there.

The BRS/ACE states "I MUST have flight tickets to check in", and that they will be sent to me approx three weeks before travelling :que oh, and that it is a conditon of the booking that I have a suitable insurance policy? What happens then, if the tickets don't arrive before I leave? Which is very likely knowing the post here on Lanzarote LOL!!! And nope, I don't have a suitable insurance policy - will I be denied boarding through not having tickets, only a printout?

Also, and I have read this elsewhere, neither of my bookings are recognised when I go to enter API. I am presuming they will just collect that at check in?

Thanks for any advice :)

madsue,

If for whatever reason tickets don't arrive the week before your flight, phone your agent or the airline to chase them up. By that stage, they'll probably issue them at the airport. I'm assuming you're a flight only customer? If that's the case, you'll have e-tickets, ie take the confirmations with you with the booking reference number and that is, in effect, your ticket. If you don't have a suitable insurance policy, the airline can terminate your booking as it's a condition of booking. I've never been asked to prove it other than tick the box when making a booking. It's highly recommended that you never travel without adequate insurance cover. API will be taken at check-in if you don't have a booking reference for Thomsons website.

Thanks Darren!! I had assumed they were etickets too!!! But apparently the flight from BRS to ACE isn't!!! That flight wants "proper" tickets!!!! I also know that the confirmation is an auto generated one, so no reply possible. I do see myself as a seasoned traveller, but this one has got me stumped!!! They should "see" that I am booking from overseas, but obviously not!!! Anyway, thanks for the reply :cheers

I flew to Reus on 8 June 2010 from Luton and had to go to the Thomson desk to collect 'Proper tickets'. Seems like a step back in time :que Last time I flew with Thomson before this flight was 2006 and back then we just got an e-ticket, now they seem to have got back to the old fashioned system?
