Hi All

I am flying out to Male - International on Sunday 3rd July from London Gatwick on TOM054 returning on TOM055.

I have a couple of questions.

I believe it will be a 767 can you confirm this?

Do you know what the flight is before this so i am able to follow it incase of any delays?

I have also paid for extra legroom seats. Am i able to prebook which ones i would like by calling them or doing it on the net before?

Thanks for your help

Hi
I have recently booked a holiday through First choice going in October 2011 to Punta Cana out of Manchester.
I have paid for extra leg room seats for 2 of us as I am 6' 2", my concern is can I choose my seat without paying extra for the Privilege and also, if I am allocated a bulkhead seat how much room will there be or is it worth paying extra and upgrading to premium?
I have read on some forums that you will not be able to stretch your legs out as the pitch is not that great.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Richard,

Regarding extra legroom seats ..... yes your can book your seat numbers direct with the airline. We are flying out to Egypt on 23rd August and booked our seat numbers last week for our outbound flight, but will need to phone back to weeks later to book the return seats as they have not yet been loaded. Tel number to phone if you don't have it is 0871 231 4143.

LGW-MLE-LGW (TOM054/5) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). The flight before is Sanford (TOM045/6) but it lands in the early hours and day stops so isn't immediately before your flight so plenty of time to absorb any delays. Extra legroom seating is limited to a couple of rows so you don't have much choice realy. You can select the ones you want but given the limited availability, there may not be a choice if other have beaten you to it. You can select seating from 90 days before over the phone and 60 days online.

You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). I can't give specific aircraft details as you've not quoted flight numbers, but it'll be a long haul Boeing 767-300/ER. You can choose your seat by calling the airline 90 days before your departure date or 60 days online. Assuming it's an ex-FCA, row 20 or 28 (depending on assigned aircraft) are the better seats in my opinion as they aren't behind the bulkhead. Even though the bulkhead seats provide extra legroom, with there being a screen in front, you can't stretch your legs out fully like you can with those at the overwing exit row. It's all personal preference really. If all you want is extra legroom, you'll get more room on row 20/28 than you will in premium, but you obviously don't get all the extras premium gives.

strid,

There are two (as listed). Plus tv programmes.

Darren

Thomson only pay the license fee for one movie per flight. If there are lots of little ones it will be the childrens movie. Followed by two tv tapes, with both childrens and adult entertainment.

Oh well. :( Re run of faulty towers it is then. :duh

We fly to Larnaca from Newcastle on 7th August on flight TOM 1714 and have opted to choose our seats. Thomsons have given us 3 seats in row 8, but we can change these. Does this row have a window?
Are they still showing films on short haul flights? We are travelling with an easily bored 10 year old.

Hi Darren, do you know which 737-800's are based at Manchester at the moment? I fly on Wednesday to SSH on Flight TOM894.
I know they could be changed between now and then so I won't know for definite, but was wondering if any of the newer 737's with the Recaro seats are in Manchester at the moment?
Thanks in advance. Enjoy your bank holiday mate.

jmac,

There are only 4 out of 18 that don't have the slimline Recaros so changes are, it'll be a G-FDxx that operates your flight rather than a G-CDxx. If it's G-FDZU/W you're after with the sky interior, ZU is in MAN and ZW should be in Luton.

Thanks Darren, we are hopeful we fly on one of the FDxx series, specifically for the Recaro seats as we feel that they would be more comfortable as the flight is over 5 hours. If we end up on one of the brand new aircraft I think it will be a bonus on top. Is it correct they now have four aircraft with the sky interior, FDZT-ZX? Are any of the other 737's other than ZU at Manchester?

Thanks again.

jmac,

At the moment, it's

G-FDZT - BHX
G-FDZU - MAN
G-FDZW - LTN

These are the newer aircraft with the Sky interior (delivered 1st Feb, 1st Mar and 21st Mar 2011 respectively). G-FDZX was delivered on 24th May and I believe has entered service at NCL. G-FDZY/Z are due in November 2011.
