I have contacted them and was told they are thinking of changing the flight but were dealing with Summer changes at the moment. This doesn't help us as the new flight times for the 7th are after midnight on the return journey, and we have an infant travelling with us,and we also have booked an airport hotel for the 9th too.Do you think this means they definately will change the flight date?

l158broxi,

Your hands are tied really. If they are thinking of changing the flight, you probably won't be able to establish anything until it's changed (assuming it will be) and you are contacted. I can only give you the information once the winter schedule is released (I normally get it in about August) but if things are changed after it, the information I have may be out of date. You'll just have to wait for a couple of months and call again for any firm changes or until you are contacted.

Thanks, will wait till August and hope for the best.

Hi l158broxi ... perhaps I am misunderstanding the situation, but I got the impression from your first post in the Gran Canaria forum that your original flight was no longer showing any availability and so you were simply wondering if it was fully booked or had been changed:

Has anyone booked from Edinburgh going to Gran Canaria on 9th Jan 2012.We have booked but all dates now seem to be going on 7th.We can't get any info from Thomsons and all Thomsons shops and sites show no flights on 9th.We don't know if our flight is full and another has been put on for 7th or ours has changed and we haven't been told yet.

But if I am reading your initial post in this thread correctly, your online booking is already showing a different departure date and flight number, as if a change has already been implemented:

Has flight date been changed from Edinburgh 9th Jan 2012 to Gran Canaria to 7th Jan 2012?Not been notified if this is the case. Our original flight details not showing when we check booking online,we were due to fly on tom1172 at 09.30 booking now showing xx1928

Is it your own online booking that is showing these different flight details, or just the online availability systems ?

gazwag,

You'll have an evening meal and a continental breakfast outbound.

Premium get cooked meals for both meal services, Inc "full English" as much as it can be on an aircraft. It's only the afternoon tea on the day flights (inbound in this case) that isn't cooked.

It is my own booking invoice which I made online which is still showing 9th Jan but flight number has changed.Availability on Thomsons website for holidays to Gran Canaria is showing holidays available only on 7th Jan.Hope this clears things up for you.

One of your previous replies to Gazwag was that row 9 doesn't have windows.
Is that just on long haul or is it short haul as well? Travelling back from Larnaca to Newcastle on TOM1715, that is the row we have booked.
Reply
sheeshon,

Row 9 with no window is for the long haul former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. It's not unique to that row though as it's the same on the other Boeing 767's, but on a different row due to the different configurations. There are several rows on aircraft with no window as it's where wiring and air conditioning is routed. Your flights are operated by the smaller Boeing 757-200 so row 9 has a window. It varies depending on the aircraft type.

Thanks Darren.
I am claustrophobic at the best of times, I was starting to panic a bit at the thought of no window.

The aircraft operating MAN-CUN-MAN (TOM144/5) comes in from Puerto Plata (TOM194/5).

Hi,

I'm travelling from Exeter to Tenerife on 12 July returning on 19. I've got row 13 seats which I'm told are extra legroom. Do you know what the sort of pitch is for those seats. Also is there any IFE please?

Many thanks

Hi,
As Darren and others help us a lot on this site, I thought I'd pass on a quick mini review on our recent flight....
Just done TOM632/3 LGW SSH.
Operated by G-FDZD 737-800 (same plane both ways).
Crew: Professional and curtious - helped with an issue on boarding for return last night in SSH (ground crew changed our seats as we were leaving the gate!! - complete mess considering our 2 year old was now many seats behind etc!!!!) - anyway all sorted in the end thanks to the crew.
Seats: Was dreading the leg room - first time on a short haul plane for many years! - the way my knees gently touched the Recardo seat in front was very comparable to sitting in economy with Virgin!! So I was quite impressed knowing that this was a short haul charter pitch! Others in out party (13 of us), didn't like the lack of storage for anything other than some magazines (for water bottle etc).
Food: Children meals were the best(!!). Meals were nothing special but were certainly fine and quite edible.
IFE: 1 film each way, terrible selection (my taste!). Worst thing was that the drop down screen was directly above and kept me awake when trying to get some sleep this morning as too bright!
Finally, flight times - terrible - not sure why they can't schedule SSH flights earlier in the day?
Tired now!

devonguy,

Welcome onboard :tup
Please quote flight numbers when requesting aircraft information. This ensure we get the correct information for you as there are often several flights. EXT-TFS-EXT (TOM6242/3 or TOM6584/5?) are operated by an Airbus A320-200 (I think). You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). There are extra legroom seats at the overwing exits on the outer seats on row 13. I can't give a seat pitch, but there's more room than standard seating. There's no IFE on the 733's.

good evening captain darren, yes...you've guessed it, another god awwwful boring seating info request for ya :banghead:
i was going to crete in september, not been to greece in about 5 years, but we did the sums and what with the jolly old euro etc it was going to cost a right royal stack for 2 weeks self catering, sooooo we are dipping our feet in turkish waters for the first time ever! we have picked a lovely little place called kadikale in a village called kadikalesi and we are flying into bodrum on 22/9/2011 from manchester on tom flight 886/887 home again (lovely flight times both legs actually)

we have extra legroom booked that we carried over from our original booking and flight, anyway- i searched my flight number on HT and i believe we may be on the a321, is this correct and does that therefor mean the old 'shorthaul premium' cabin is now going to be extra legroom in addition to the usual bulkhead and overwing rows? just wondered like so i can think about where we want to sit and daddy longlegs (my husband-legs like a drag queen, you know) will know he will have room to move... ;)

PS/ well and truly :offtop but you might know- are jet2 leasing a plane with 2 old style rear engines out of blackpool this summer? its just i work in an office overlooking there and my friend is booked with them next month and doesnt like the look of it, we've seen it a few days now on early morning take offs and as a nervous flyer it's putting her off due to it not having any 'proper jet2 paint work'' (!) i said the colour scheme doesnt make it fly any better... :duh it might not be jet2 but i thought i'd ask...any clue???

Hello Guys/Darren

Our holiday is almost upon us :) 8th June, MAN-SSH, TOM894.

Please can you tell me where this flight is coming from prior to my trip?

Thanks :cheers

strid,

Your aircraft comes in from Palma (TOM2328/9).

Darren

PS acknowledgement of posts it nice.

emmacat,

MAN-BJV-MAN (TOM886/7) are indeed operated by an Airbus A321-200. The old short haul premium was basically extra legroom with a couple of extras, it was never like the long haul premium.
