james 84,

MAN-TFS-MAN (TOM2202/3) are operated by Boeing 767-300/ER.

Hi Jetlagged , they do tend to put really good staff on premium lane , and I have gone through there very quickly at times., but other times there has been a queue .
A lot can hinge on whether you are travelling at peak periods like early mornings and school holidays .

The new owners have worked hard at trying to improve the total customer experience , they are wanting to make the airport better and have certainly improved it from the days of BAA ownership by way of investment .
Hope you have a good holiday and a pleasant airport experience !!

...I managed to check in via my work PC without a hitch, I think the problem may lie with the browser in use as whilst using ipad on safari it was impossible to load the boarding passes, whilst internet explorer on PC absolutely fine....hope this helps others in a similar quandary :cheers

Hi Darren

Did you see my previous message to you regarding the aircraft config?

Thanks

z.j.c,

Yes, but I can't provide an answer as yet. The remaining ex-FCA 763's will have left the fleet by then leaving the ex-TOM only. These are 2-4-2, not 2-3-2.

petaraven,

Row 6 are standard premium club seats. The toilets are behind 6G/J and there are no restrictions although the seats on the right hand side of the cabin have slightly less seat recline than others in the cabin. Further details are linked from our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Will be selecting our seats very soon to Dominican Republic on the Dreamliner from Manchester. I have seen talk about two different seat pitches in economy (apart from the extra legroom seats), I have read that although they advertise 34" pitch that actually there are a number that are only 33" pitch. Does anyone know which rows are the the 33" and which are the 34". My understanding is that the first four rows in economy are the extra legroom seats at 36" pitch.

Would like to have booked the premium but have already paid for the privilege of just flying on the Dreamliner and the holiday was way more than originally planned so upgrading is not an option.

Many thanks

I looked at that but couldn't work out which rows were the 33" pitch although I have read they are at the back of the plane.

Thanks of the reply.

Would you happen to know what routes the two new aircraft be assigned too,or do they rotate the 787 fleet around for maintenance ect ?
Reply
Whomenever,

Aircraft aren't assigned to any particular route. All 6 will have the same long haul configuration so they'll just join the fleet and be rotated around the various airports and operate all the routes.

I have just went on to select my seats and the seat plan shows 2-3-2, I thought the 767s were 2-4-2. I don't understand how half of the seats are blocked off as it has on,y just opened to select seats.

...there is only G-OOBM left - and I thought that was being retired in July??

The seats already allocated may be due to people on 1 week holidays who can reserve seats earlier than those on a two week break or due to phone bookings being made before the seat plan appeared online.

We have been told that they are Premium seats and they are unable to be booked until June, so we will have to wait a bit longer to book them.
