Rotterdam,

TOM126/7 should be an ex-TOM. The flights commence on 8th April so I won't be able to confirm it until then. You can check it yourself if you log on to the seat selection page, it should show a 2-4-2 seating plan.

Thanks again Dazbo,

So it should be (pray I get this right) a 'Boeing 767-304er (winglets)'type then with 283 seats ?

:tup Don't get too caught up in the -304/ER. It's the same aircraft underneath! The 3 just means it's a 300 series, 04 was Britannia's customer code for Boeing when the aircraft was originally ordered and ER just means it's the Extended Range version. Winglets obviously because it's had them fitted. It's the way Boeing title their aircraft for reference.

Hi

I'm flying Man - San Tom168 - Tom169 on the 21/07/2011 will this be an ex FCA or Thomson plane? By the Q&A i've read the ex fca planes seem to have more room than the Thomson planes in the standard class

Cheers

By SAN, I assume you mean Orlando Sanford (SFB)? Seat pitches are the same on the ex-FCA and ex-TOM in economy. It's just the seat widths that are slightly smaller on the ex-TOM with them being 8 abreast rather than 7. I can't confirm which varient of the Boeing 767-300/ER it'll be until May, but it should be the ex-FCA.

Hi Darren,

Another newbie here, but I'm really hoping you can put my mind at rest about the plane I'll be on when I go off to Jamaica from Gatwick on 30/4/11 (TOM024/025). We have upgraded to 'Premier' Class and after selecting the seats (the layout was given in 2-3-2), I tried to find out some more information about the In-flight entertainment that would be available to us. I was a bit perplexed when it stated on the First Choice website that "Unfortunately in-flight entertainment isn't available on our Boeing 737-300 planes".

I am really hoping that this is just a bit of a web page foul up, but was wondering if you may be able to tell me that its actually going to be a 767!

Thanks in advance

April IFE can be found on the What Aircraft Thread which is linked in Darren's posts. The IFE for your inbound flight in May won't be available until end of April/beginning of May.
I can assure you, you will not be on a 737 as they don't have the range.

It will be a B767-300. The 737 is a short/ medium range aircraft. There is IFE on the 767 with plenty of choice in Premier class.

The reference to the Boeing 737 isn't relevant to yourself as you'll be travelling on a Boeing 767-300/ER as busdriver mentions, specifically an ex-First Choice aircraft. You'll find extensive aircraft information in relation to your flights on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). The Boeing 737 would only get as far as Iceland before if needed to stop for fuel, then again once it readed Canada and again on it's way down to the Caribbean! It's a mistake on the website so just ignore it.

Harry Boat,

LGW-ACE-LGW (TOM4766/7) are operated by an Airbus A321-200. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Hi

Can anyone tell me what the route the plane will take from Manchester to Sanford would we fly directly across the pond? Not the best flier and always prefer to see the land for some reason??

Cheers

Benleigh,

You'll take a pretty direct route although the exact track depends on weather, other traffic and jetstream positions on the day. You'll head from Manchester, over Ireland then oceanic towards Newfoundland. At that point, you'll sometimes head inland over Canad. then down through the US, or more commonly, stay offshore and head down the easter seaboard then in the SFB.

Hope you can help, Myself and my family (seven in total) are going to Cancun on Thu 28th July 2011, were trying to find out which plane were going to be flying on. All we know is that its a Boeing 767, does anyone know if its a First Choice plane or a Thomson plane, and what the configuration of the seats are, sadly we are only in cattle class.
Any tips on the best seats, etc..Flying from Gatwick on flt no. TOM092 and back on TOM093, I think.

Thank you

Sonia.

You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link in my signature below). Your flights are operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER in the former First Choice configuration.

Are you able to advise if the Thomson flight from Newcastle to Punta Cana on 11-06-11 will be a type 1 or type two, ex FCA aircraft (will have a toilet at either side on row 11 or only one toilet on the left(pilots side))
Thank you

alfords,

A particular aircraft won't be assigned this early and it swaps and changes throughout the year. There's only 1 of the 6 ex-FCA aircraft in the V1 config, the other 5 are V2 so it's more than likely a V2.

There are 2 pilots in the flight deck! Captain on the port (left) and First Officer on the starboard (right).
