I have today been able to select my seats for both legs of my holiday (3 July MAN-MBJ, 17 July MBJ-MAN, TOM 136 & 137). I was told that there were 9 rows in Premium, so does that mean thay we're in ex First Choice planes? If so, are these still in the First Choice livery or have they been re-painted in Thomson colours, and have they been retro-fitted with winglets?
Is there a "normal" routing for this journey, or does it totally depend on the prevailing weather?
For me the flight is a great part of the holiday, so I'm always keen to know the details (although it might seem a little sad to some!).
Thanks.
TOM136/7 are an ex-FCA 763. There are photos linked from our our What Aircraft? Guide. They are in the FCA livery and all apart from G-DBLA and G-PJLO have winglets. The route depends on the jetstream position, traffic and weather on the day. You'll either go via the southern route over the Azores or the northern route towards Newfoundland then down the eastern seaboard.
Darren
Many thanks Darren.
MAN-DLM-MAN (TOM496/7) should be operted by a Boeing 767-304/ER (328 seats, short haul, wingets). There are configured 2-4-2 throughout. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Sorry, don't have flight numbers as haven't booked yet just looking. LGW - NBE (Enfidha) on 14 September 2011 07:15 departure time, any idea which plane operates this route? To be honest, i'm actually looking at booking for 2012, but september 2012 isn't available to book yet and i would guess the route would be operated by the same plane. Although i'm really hoping this route will be a test route for the 787 next year, but i doubt it :(.
Thanks in advance, I'm guessing 737-800?
Ollie
LGW-NBE-LGW (TOM580/1) are showing as an Airbus A320-200 at the moment. No chance of a 787 on that route. The first of 8 firm orders for the 787 is due in January 2012, assuming Boeing start to deliver to the current schedule.
Darren
Hi, just literally this min selected our seats for the flight out and home. E mail never said exactly which plane TOM 060/061 was but we selected row 21f&g. Hope this is a decent selection!?
TOM061/2 is a former an ex-First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). Seating is personal preference. Row 21 are as good as any others.
Darren
Just after some info for the morning we travel to POP on 06/05/11
From what i can gather there are 3 TOM long hauls that morning?
Do you have a full TOM flight schedule for that morning?
Just want some background so i can decide what time we need to be there to avoid cues etc!
Cheers pal,
Aaron
You don't need to know about other flights to decide when to get to the airport! You need to be at the airport between 2 and 3 hours before your flight departs. Are you flying from Manchester? There's another long haul flight due out about an hour after yours as well as several short and mid hauls. If you check-in at the required time, queues shouldn't be too bad at that time of year.
Darren
Have booked on TOM862/3 LGW-DLM-LGW on 18/06/11 returning 20/06/11.
I have booked extra legroom seats for me and my brother (as we are both over 6ft). I have seats 17G/H going out and 35G/H coming back.
Can you tell me if we actually have a window in line with these seats? Nothing worse than having a window seat that doesnt have a window, .
Thanks very much
Welcome onboard
LGW-DLM-LGW (TOM862/3) are operated by a Boeing 767-304/ER (short haul, winglets). Row 17 are just behind the toilets at the front of the centre cabin. There are a couple of rows in that location with no windows. Row 17 may have a partial view. Row 35 have windows.
Darren
Thanks Darren, was worried about a no window situation, I can deal with a partial view though.
Hi Darren,we are looking at going to Mexico in 2012 (March) any chance that the Dreamliner will be in service by then????
The first is due for delivery in January 2012, assuming there are no further delays at Boeing. It's unlikely Cancun will be one of the early routes it's used on.
Darren
weecarol,
MAN-BJV-MAN (TOM532/3) should be operated by a Boeing 767-304/ER (winglets, 328 short haul). You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Just been on to select our seats for the flights and both are coming up as a 3-3 configuration - any idea what aircraft this will be?
Thanks

If it is, it will probably be a very long flight as they will have to go the long way round. Usually takes about 6 months to get long haul over water clearance. Up to then they will probably be restricted to flying within 60 minutes (about 450 miles) of land. For Cancun the "180 minute rule" is usually used which means they are able to fly up to 180 minutes (about 1100miles) from an airfield which is suitable for landing their particular aircraft
Flying Gatwick - Bourgas 11 Jul TOM4150 17:35 arriving back 23 Jul TOM4575 5:05
any idea of the aircraft type?
Thanks
I've heard the Canaries will be used for that initially. The 787 is expected without a premium cabin due to there not being any relaxation in the Air Passenger Duty so it's likely to be introduced on the high density lower premium routes once in long haul service such as Sanford and Dominican Republic, but that's to be confirmed.
TOM are an established ETOPS operator and the aircraft should come ETOPS certified so I would have thought introduction in to their long haul schedule wouldn't take that long. It's expected in long haul service in Feb 2011.
