having flown from tfs to doncaster only 3 weeks ago I can confirm that they definately show films and tv shows etc.
And I can confirm that they do not necessarily do so. We flew out with Thomsonfly (3 weeks ago) & movies were shown, but when we flew home the plane didn't even have TVs. 
Take your point Nigel,obviously its about which aircraft is used,but we have used them on several occasions and entertainment as always been available, maybe we have just been lucky.
We didn't have any TVs etc. on our thomsonfly flight from Bournemouth to Tenerfie in February 2007...........
Hello, we had a package holiday with thomson from Coventry to Mallorca and went on a thomson fly plane and they never had a telly, or any food ether, its not like the old days.
