Do you know where about the villa is? Torre isn't too far to walk, but obviously it depends on which part you are setting out from and which part of Torre you are heading to!

You can walk along the sea front all the way into Torre. It's nice and flat, unlike Nerja and there are little ramps every now and then for wheelchairs, so hopefully you will find it a pleasant walk. There is usually a lovely atmosphere along the paseo in Torre with craft stalls and various things going on. Often there are trampolines set up. There seems to be different things going on at different times so it's difficult to say for sure what you will find, but it is a great area. The town itself isn't as pretty as Nerja but it is more popular with Spanish tourists.

If you go in the other direction to Algarrobo, the paseo which is much smaller, is also popular in the evenings. There are small excercise stations dotted around as well as ping pong tables, though I think you need to take your own bats and balls. Sometimes there are live music concerts.

Algarrobo is very family orientated and kids just seem to enjoy being out and about.

I'd be interested in hearing what you think of the area. I live in the area and love it and although Nerja is lovely for an occasional visit, I would much rather be in Caleta. Eating out is far cheaper too!

Have a great time.

I've just edited this to say that I posted a few photos of Claleta beach in a thread about suggestions for a single in October. Not the best photos, but they show how lovely and uncrowded the beaches are.

There's an excellent market on saturday morning on the main street. If you decide to stop for a drink while shopping, don't try to get one in the market area as they will be very busy. Cross the main street and head through to the port. There's a lovely place overlooking the Marina that usually has seats.

The small greengrocers on the Algarrobo roundabout is the best place for fresh fruit.

One of the best menu del dias in the area is to be found at Eclipse. Turn down the side road by Muebles Piramedes (furniture shop) and then to the right and it's the second restaurant.

The best steak is to be found at Pippos on Algarrobo Costa and La Viuda at Mezquitilla is another excellent restaurant. It doesn't look anything from the road, but has a nice terrace at the back. Best Rosada around!

The free magazines which are in many shops and estate agents, have discount vouchers for Aquavelis Waterpark. You need one voucher per person. If your villa is owned by someone local, I would ask them to collect some vouchers for you.
